As spring temps start popping up across the lower 48 more and more motorcyclists are starting to knock the dust off their bikes. Some week end warriors some of us more stubborn then to be held down by the cold. Just today as the temperature hit the 70’s we have already had 2 rider accidents hit the news.

Motorcyclist dies in Mount Olive wreck

Mount Olive, N.C. — A motorcyclist died in a single-vehicle wreck on West Main Street, just west of Mount Olive, around noon Saturday.

State troopers said that Dennis Alan Brock, 48, of Mount Olive, was driving a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle west on West Main Street. Brock lost control as he entered a right-hand curve and ran off the left side of the road, near Country Club Road.

Brock was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he died.

Troopers said that Brock’s son was following him on another motorcycle but was not injured.

The other one was cut off by a cage blowing a red light while texting. Please folks… keep the risk minimal and stay safe!

I think they need to increase fines and punishments for those who cause accidents while on the phone in any capacity. Have a buddy who’s been riding for a few years and uses his bluetooth ear piece while riding. Can’t believe some people consider phone useage while operating any vehicle as a safe decision.
