I don’t know that I want to work in Anchorage. I’m from Kodiak, so Anchorage is huge to me. lol. My worse memory (other than those already mentioned), was rush hour in Anchorage, please just kill me. I guess it’s like that in every city, but I was fuming by the time we got back to our friend’s house…….I’m hoping to work at one of the small flight seeing companies there in Willow. Hubby wants to go to Kenai, but when we were there (a friend’s in the woods), there were so many freakin’ skeeters, I got eaten alive within seconds with long sleeves and jeans. lol. I just want to be within driving distance to go to the mall or something, instead of a plane ride or ferry ride and 4-5 hour drive….. :) Hope all is well up there, can’t wait to come home!

SafetyFirst- that’s odd about the lens and not the light…

You might want to check out ebay for the integrated mirror/turn signals…..we found them for about 50 bucks that includes shipping. Just waiting for them to come in. Hubby’s bike didn’t come with turn signals and needed new mirrors (purely cosmetic), so we went with those. There’s a lot to choose from. I’ve noticed that our “local shop” wants at least 50 bucks more for basically everything that we can get from an OEM dealer. They wanted like 170-ish for an ignition, and we got it for 111. We have to wait for the “shop” or order it, or we can just order it and get front door service. :)

I don’t think we’d be able to swing it this year. It’s times like these I wish the kids were older (and cheaper)! Have fun! I’ll stick to my roads out here on the Peninsula (for now)……….

I bought across state lines, so I mine was different as well.
We both had to complete a bill of sale and sign the title. He had 10 days to send it in (bill of sale) (OR).
I had “15” days to go to DOL in WA to register it, I didn’t do it in 15 days, and that didn’t care at all.
That’s all I had to do.

I have Progressive, and they were the cheapest, I think Geico is smokin’ something, they wanted more than all my vehicles combined for a year for a 6 mo. period. crack heads! I did some other snooping, but we use USAA for our cars, and they’re partnered up with Progressive for motorcycle ins. I’ve heard that Progressive has great coverage, I hope I don’t ever have to find out, lol.

I knew quite a few Sheriffs growing up, and they told me that it wasn’t really the job of the sherriff to pull peeps over for speeding and minor infractions. It pretty much has to reckless. Police are there for that. The Sheriff is there to serve subpoenas, drug stuff, and all that jazz. I rarely see a Sheriff that has pulled someone over, and if I do, they’re typically getting their car searched while sitting the back of the cop car. Don’t know if it’s like that everywhere…….

integrated turn signal mirrors are available on e-bay for any bike for about 50 bucks (including shipping). We just bought some for the YZF. Waiting for more $ to get a set for the ninja. They make lil covers to go where the stock turn signals mount as well. Don’t let all the spiffy-ness sway you, you can make any bike spiffy!

lil ninja has a double bubble windscreen now, in the near future we’re going to do the mirror integrated turn signal upgrade, fender eliminator, and seat cowl. Oh and some rim tape, then she’ll be done. YZF is almost done.

Where he’s been riding…..a lot of those places are like IN TOWN. The speed limits are between 25 and 45 in those areas. It gets up to 55 (maybe 60?) on the way to Palmer, but what a ‘tard. He’s going to outrunning the troopers again, and a moose is going to run out in front of his ass and he’ll be history. Happens pretty regularly in Anchorage. I’ve seen some dumb college students driving there. We were up there for a doctor’s appt. It was the dead of winter, and there was ice and fresh powered snow on top of the ice. This idiot goes zooming past us and weaving through traffic at about 70+. About two miles later, he was flipped over in the median. The guy was like 19. I think he lived, but I bet he doesn’t drive like that anymore. The moose are scary as shit. I wouldn’t want to meet one on a bike let alone any vehicle (even semi’s). :) I didn’t read all the comments……..the guy probably has a warrant (that was issued before this bike mess) out…..jmo. Anchorage is nuts, that’s why you’ll never find me a resident of that city……Willow….ahhh, sweet Willow!

They do, but we dig the blues. We call them sisters (I guess Irish twins would qualify, they’re 2 years apart, lol).

owlie, do you know from experience? The kitty in your pic is getting awfully close to your helmet…..just one slap of that visor…..

By the way people, I’m joking! I’ve learned the computer doesn’t convey that very well……

The bike we just bought is a recovered stolen laid down bike. They ripped out the ignition (which is stupid, b/c there are much easier ways to jump a bike). That was about 110, and now the lay down damage…..we’ve spent about 200 bucks so far, probably about another 100-150, and we’ll be done (not counting the carb tuner that we need anyways)……good luck, we’re buying alarms for both bikes as well….poor baby doesn’t need to get jacked twice!

Wow, those texting while driving consequences pics are VERY graphic! Maybe more people in the States (looked like that wreck took place in Europe) should see them (particularly that lady reading a book while driving!).

It all depends on where you are. We watch the Portland and Seattle craig’s lists, and that actually sounds about right or a little low. Seattle always prices over Portland (except in extreme and rare cases)……good luck! :)
