I went down to Hillsboro, OR yesterday and bought an 07 Yamaha YZF 600r w. 2,08X miles on it for 2900. It was stolen and laid down during pursuit. It pretty much all cosmetic. We just bought a little less than 200 bucks to get it where hubby can ride with me. It’s blue. The RH fairing is a bit chewed up, the stickers saved most of it, and paint will do the job for now….hubby wants to replace them eventually. The crank case (RH side) cover broke, but nothing damaged inside. The end of the muffler and beginning of the slip on are chewed up a bit, nothing a bead of weld and some BBQ black paint can’t take care of. No windscreen, no anchor strips for the windscreen (ordered the anchor strip, waiting on the windscreen for now). The brake pedal is slightly bent, but nothing a vice can’t take care of. The LF crank case cover is a bit chewed up (looks like it was tipped over), hubby doesn’t care about it though. the front brake lever is a little chewed, and the screw-on end of the RH handlebar is bent a bit (when you take the screw on part off the throttle doesn’t stick, but it does if it’s on). The ignition is completely gone thanks to some retard who ripped it out to hot wire it, there’s speaker wires attached to the starter wires now.

I took it to the locksmith today since it came with no keys, and whoever stole it was trying to impression the gas tank key (even though I was told it wouldn’t work on that sort of lock). The ignition is on order, and they’re going to change it to match the helmet and gas tank locks….one key, yes!

Today we ordered the ignition, a gasket, and the little anchor strips that hold the windshield on for about 180 bucks (shipping included)……considering that the dealer (or stealerships as Elwood would say) wanted 168 before tax for just the ignition…..not bad.

I’m very excited about this bike. Can’t wait to get it running, it’s hubby’s bike, but was my original “dream” bike. Can’t wait for him to ride it, I’m not ready for it yet, but still…..

WTF? How do I load pics? They’re on my facebook page, but I was just trying to copy and paste them from my computer? Is that possible or do I have to upload them to a site and then to that url thing?

There’s a little button above where you type that looks like a sunset (far left). If you click that and enter the image URL, it will display the picture. The problem with facebook is that the webpage isn’t just the image. You could upload them to photobucket or something.

ahh, I don’t want to deal with photo bucket. I’m on FB, all the pics are on there….
We drained the fuel out of it today, and it looked like a very dehydrated person pissed in the tank. Flushed out the fuel filter (they don’t have them anywhere around here, or I would have just replaced it). Changed the spark plugs, they were burned to hell. Won’t start, we think there’s gunk in the carbs. I tested the fuel pump and it works (but my jerry rig to catch the fuel didn’t work, lol). So, bright and early tomorrow going to get some cleaner (carb cleaner or that gunk out stuff?) while hubby is sleeping (he works nights). And then hopefully it will fire up. :)

Enjoy the work. I know very little about motorcycle engine work, although I’m slowly learning.

Side note: there was another thread, where if you right click, and click on “copy image location,” you can then enter that in the little sunset icon thing on this page, and it should work.
