If the jacket and pants have fastening systems you will have 2 zipper pairs that don’t match. Someone who sews could easily remove 1 and the attache the other half for you.

I’m sure that all mid sized bikes will be stable at highway speeds. We have had debates about the Ninja at highway speeds but mid-sized bikes are all heavier and the extra mass will help on the highway.

I’ll second the recommendation to get the one that really speaks to you. If the price differences don’t matter to you then go with the one that gives you the biggest emotional response. You’ll know the one when you see it and sit on it.

I’m sure the Ducati will be able to go highway speeds and go 90 if you need it too.

I’m amazed Megaspaz has accumulated 2 bikes in such a short time. At that rate he will have a fleet in no time.

How long has the company been selling in the US? That is more important than how long the company has existed overseas. That and parts availability locally, and regionally, would be the big factors for me.

If someone looks at their bikes and then decides to go with a Japanese bike because of their history and reputation then you can’t fault that.

I have been riding for 6 weeks since I passed the MSF class. My riding experience includes the Rebel and Nighthawk from class and the 290 miles I have put on my 2007 Ninja 250. I have a 5 mile commute to work that I will be tackling very soon.

I assume you mean look through with your mirror? It can’t be safe to do it using your head. :)

I did the arm tuck last night while riding and was very happy with the results. On my Ninja I can practically see everything behind while doing it and moving around the land should get the rest. Great tip.

Here in IL the snow will melt after the first snow and you might get a good mild riding day in December. The problem is with the unpredictability of the weather. It can get so cold that any precipitation that is unplanned would be a nightmare for a rider.

That was my guess so I ordered the XS.

I don’t drive a manual transmission car and before the MSF class my experience was a couple of lessons in a car. I’d be more concerned with you getting a year on the road becoming more comfortable with the idiots also on the road than with knowing how to shift.

A year in a car would be of benefit. That way you can get used to driving and being in and around traffic with a cage around you. You want to be a competent road driver before you get on a bike IMO. Then when you ride the bike is new but the road and the idiots on it are not.

For comparison I have 13 hours of riding on my Ninja. About 8 of those come from 8 x 1 hour visits to a church parking lot 2 miles away from my house. I have spent a lot of time doing the slow race, the slow circles, figure 8’s, stop and go’s, weaving, swerving, and emergency stops. I’ll be going again this week if the rain holds off and doing the emergency stops again. I’m ok at 20mph but I want to practice higher speeds so that my first time isn’t during the middle of my commute.

I know this isn’t as much fun as just riding. I have about 5 hours of riding around the neighborhood or up to the twisties around a local lake and that is much more fun. I’m just being disciplined because I need my skill to be at a decent level to deal with the morons in traffic.

Congrats. I haven’t ridden since Wednesday because of the rain. We had 5 inches over 4 days. Looks to be dry today and tonight though.

Looks nice. Keep the rubber side down and keep it shiny. I have had the temp dial get close to the red zone but never gone into it. You might want to double check the coolant level.
