MSF class questions

I live in Vermont which means the bike will go away probably some time in late October, early November at the very latest. MSF classes end in Vermont in early October. Even if they weren’t all booked, which they are, my schedule would make it impossible to take a class on a weekend in September or October. I will be in New York in mid November and there is a class that weekend with space available. If I were to take that class, once I hop off their bike I won’t get a chance to ride again, and practice what I’ve learned, for about 5 months.

I’d value opinions on whether I should take the class in November or should I wait until spring when the riding season begins and the MSF classes start up again in Vermont. I’d really like to take the class in November but don’t know if it is the best idea.

Go for it. Squeeze it in for November. It is better to get it done with since it will take weeks to get your waiver anyways. The MSF course in my area is extending their course dates deep into November due to huge demand.

I would say it would depend on your current skill. If you’ve never ridden…. wait til you can hit it fresh off. If you got some experience may be ok but still a long time to forget what it was you took it for.

Yesterday is a memory, tomorrow is a prediction, but today…… is a Bi**h

Thanks for the responses. I don’t need the waiver as I already have my endorsement. However I passed the test on my 150cc scooter which was so easy it was almost cheating. I think I am going to take it in November but would still welcome any insight that anyone else might have.

go for it if you can and then take it again locally at your convenience in the spring as a “refresher”. They actually recommend taking it several times(just for the seat time even if you have passed it) and then taking the advanced course also.

Here in IL the snow will melt after the first snow and you might get a good mild riding day in December. The problem is with the unpredictability of the weather. It can get so cold that any precipitation that is unplanned would be a nightmare for a rider.
