So, Saturday I completed the MSF course and after having nothing but bad things to say about the GZ250 I did last week’s class on, I did it this time on a Yamaha TW200 dual sport. WOOHOO was that thing FUN! The way I rode that thing is making me consider trading in my SV650 for a DRZ400SM. I DEFINATELY want a Super Motard bike for my next bike, you would not BELIEVE how fun those things are! I had a blast all day long despite the fact that it was raining buckets. I passed the test on this little dual sport. Because of how much it was raining nobody was able to achieve decent stopping distance on the emergency stop test so that part was graded on a curve. The only part where I had trouble was on the figure 8, i crossed the line once on the second turnaround. The instructor told me that because the gearing on the dual sport was so different from normal motorcycles it’s harder because you can’t go by what he’s telling the class as a whole. I didn’t realize this until after the test, but no biggie, I still passed.

To everyone wanting to take the MSF class: If you want to REALLY have fun at the class, take it on a dual sport! Even if it’s just a little Yamaha TW200 like what they gave me.

Congrats. I haven’t ridden since Wednesday because of the rain. We had 5 inches over 4 days. Looks to be dry today and tonight though.
