Here it is guys… I put 9 miles on this bad boy tonight. Even did 39 in a 35…blew by this rabbit. He never even saw me coming.

I even accidentally hit my horn when I was trying to turn on my blinker right when I was coming up to the intersection by 7-11. Yeah… I was “cool”…

Maybe you are going close to mach 1 and the water vapor/shock wave is forming around the front of your helmet?

Thanks… just got it a couple hours ago…sitting in the garage…

Had to make dinner, then it poured rain, now I have to give my son a bath and go to bed…

Maybe I’ll take it around the neighborhood tomorrow :-(

Congrats… same boat here. I almost bought the Ninja650, but with with the Yamaha FZ6R in the end. Dealer delivers tomorrow.

I’ve already been on a real road once with a CBR600, but when we got where we were going, I could feel just a bit of adrenaline going through my system having just gone a whopping 50mph on something with no seat belt or air bags.

Thanks… I joined up on that forum a couple days ago. Found lots of people in VA on there already.

Just stopped at the dealer on the way home to finalize paperwork. They said they would role in the delivery cost to the loan and when I signed everything… it wasn’t there. So, they are delivering it for free :-) They’re dropping it off tomorrow when I get home from work… can’t wait. My wife will be shocked, she doesn’t know it’s coming. Last time I talked to her about it, she said, “oh just come home with it, I don’t want to talk about it anymore.”

Also picked up a Columbia Hi-Viz neon yellow jacket. If you can’t see me coming on this, then I really am invisible!

Well… it’s not “free” to have it delivered. They are charging $60 to drop it off at my place which is about a 25-30 minute drive from the dealer, so I figured the $60 would be well worth it rather than me pulling out into busy traffic to drive home 1/2 an hour on a brand new bike that I’ve never ridden with brand new tires that need to be broken in as well.

The $60 will be “insurance” well spent. I did get them to price match another dealer and even got and extra $9 off !!! whoo hoo. Got the bike for $5990 and about $6800 OTD.

Got the hook up with State Farm today for a tad less than $600/yr for full coverage…woot!

Saw tons of people riding in Ohio last week… no helmet, barely a shirt, and maybe some tennis shoes. Even if one figures when their time is up – it’s up… I still can’t imagine what a flying stone off the highway would feel like on your forehead?

I rode the DR200 for MSF. It was a nice little bike. Very easy to learn on and easy to do maneuvers in class. It had a fair bit of power, just not sure I’d take it out on a highway type road.

My biggest complaint was that my rear end was really hurting from the seat after so many hours riding it.

There is no reason someone needs a bike that can go more than 65mph or more than 250cc’s. Anything more than that is a menace to the collective society and the citizens of the Earth. Think of how many lives we could save if we banned assault sport bikes and only allowed modest cruisers or standards and required all riders to wear full gear that complied with UN standards.

Surely, you can all find it in your hearts to agree with me if it will save even one life?

    ;-)

Went to the circus with my 4 y/o not long ago… they rode bikes around inside of a metal sphere. I would suggest mastering that before wheelies and stoppies…

If I had that much cash, it would be perfect! I’ll have to wait and see if I get a bonus and what kind of raise I get next month – if any. Nearly got wiped out in my play stock account and don’t have much in savings right now, so probably won’t have the cash option right now unless I cash one of those evil “credit card checks”.

I’m not too concerned with $200 on the bike’s final price. I’d like to build a good relationship with them since they are the only nearby dealer/repair shop around. They may try to take it out of me later. I will probably go the route of – give me a fair price and a discount on a jacket/pants and we’ll call it a deal.

I took it at a community college for $140. A somewhat nearby dealer had them for $400…. I took the $140 class.

I’d suggest getting a Goldwing for the long drive comfort, then putting a roll cage on it. Once you hit a year, then try the wheelies and stoppies on the Goldwing since you’ll have the roll cage to prevent certain death.

We should bail out motorcycle manufacturers, then we can TELL them what to make…ahahahahahah Nothing larger than 300cc to save the children and must have emissions checked to be green!

I sort of agree about Ohio though… my sis lives there and rode for about 6 months before she took the MSF. They don’t even seem to have temp licenses here in VA… you just take the MSF and get the license endorsement to take to the DMV. If you don’t pass MSF, good luck figuring out how to get a bike to the VA-DMV to take THEIR test on.
