WesParticipant
haha I’m seriously going with the FZ6R. If you think you can handle it. If you read the reviews on it. It usually says its a great “entry level commuter bike”. For me, I think the ninja 250 is too small (but that’s just me). Everyone has their opinions.
WesParticipantHaha very true. It doesn’t hurt to remind people though.
WesParticipantGS500, hhmmm not too shabby I suppose although there is some people who would disagree with me haha.
WesParticipantYea, that’s why I don’t ride passengers on 3 wheelers, cant keep that front end down. kind of entertaining when the passenger tries to jump off though.
WesParticipantoh well I don’t see why you couldn’t as long as the passenger isn’t ridiculously obese. Have you been to the dealer to look at one? or any used ones around.
WesParticipanthaha uummm I’m not sure what the weight limit is. . hhmm how much do you weigh?
WesParticipantArizona eh, I have a friend in Tuscon who plans on riding a harley from there to Tennessee in a few months. UUmmm well you said you’re not looking to lean over nor are you intending on riding a “huge cruiser” I think I have that correct. Well not all cruisers are “huge”. There are some I guess you could say midsized ones out there and not all the sport bikes are going to have you leaning over the whole time. I definitely understand what you are saying about the dangerous motorcycles. Do you plan on buying a new bike or a used one? and have you gone around and sat on bikes to see what feels comfortable to you? Take in mind that you will always want to be safe as you said so a “spacesuit” might be helpful haha. A jacket with shoulder pads, elbow pads, and back protection is something I refer, gloves are nice, riding pants, boots. and anyone that doesn’t wear a helmet is not that bright.
WesParticipantI understand what you’re saying. I retract my previous statement. Its all a matter of opinion I suppose. Ninja 250 is a good bike for cheap and will save you a good bit on the insurance but I’m just really not into them. The Yamaha FZ6 600 is an entry level commuter bike. Very nice and not hard to learn on (as far as I know). As I said, just a matter of opinion.
WesParticipantThe Ninja 250 is okay I suppose but no power, and once you get on the highway with all of the large trucks you will realize how light it is. I don’t see any reason why the 600 is a bad idea.
WesParticipantI agree with big guy. The FZ6R 600 is a really good entry level commuter bike. I plan on getting one myself. If you go to the Yamaha Website it says its like 7 grand or something like that but I went to the dealer and it was only 6 grand and I’m sure I could have talked him down. Just check out your local Yamaha dealer and see how much they are charging.
WesParticipanthaha I really don’t think I’ll have the guts to leave him behind. He’ll probably be going faster than I will at first. Yea I think you are talking about Shelby Forest State Park. I used to live out there. It is really nice, we still own some land out there. I don’t like driving through downtwon Memphis or the Bartlett area. A lot of crazy drivers out there.
WesParticipantYea, I’m gonna get him the cheapest 250 I can find haha. That was he can sell it when he turns 16 to get a new one. I am more interested in the 2008 Yamaha Fz6… Pretty nice bike. I am in Millington, right out of Memphis. Not a very good place to visit (at night or in the “ghetto” parts) but yea the rest of Tennessee is nice.
Oh, I was also wondering if anyone knew the Tennessee state law for having underglow on motorcycles. I cant find an answer anywhere, really I’m too lazy to look anymore.WesParticipantahhh cool. I totally know what you mean. I told him he couldn’t ride unless I was around haha. I had my eye on a couple of used ninja 250s that are in my area. I’ll definitely have to look into them a little more and get my friend (who has more experience with bikes) look them over. AWe, but I did find a Katana 750. and its the exact color I’d like to have for only $4,400. This isn’t really my first time riding, I’ve ridden before just never owned my own bike haha, well I do have a moped haha.
