Well, Owlie, there is a lot here, but I just want to touch on a small point you made:
The more I ride, the more I will see of the local area. That is as fulfilling to me as being able to find a perfect line through a curve is to other folks. So, I’ll give it a couple thousand miles before I give up riding as a hobby from a personal fulfillment point of view.
For me, this has been an unexpected benefit that I have found exhilerating. I have found small towns within 15 miles of my home that I had never heard of before. Thanks for reminding me.
wbsprudelsParticipantGlad you came out better than the bike, eon.
wbsprudelsParticipantCongratulations! I love the look–especially the two-tone tank (of course, I am partial to the Boulevards).
wbsprudelsParticipantShoulder? What’s a shoulder? Seriously, for some reason Indiana does not believe in making roads with shoulders.
wbsprudelsParticipant10 months as of last Sunday and 9200 miles. I commute with mine and try to ride it any chance I get. About 4,000 of those miles were on my Blast; the rest, on my C50 Boulevard. Still a beginner in many ways, including leaving my key in the ignition at work yesterday. Doh!
wbsprudelsParticipantI agree with you 100%. It’s always irked me–even before riding a motorcycle. Now when I see it in front of me when I am on my bike, I’d like to catch it and throw it back in their car. You know, like, “Hey, Buddy, I think you dropped this–here.”

Two of my classmates quit shortly after witnessing my acrobatics. It earned me a slightly bloody shin from hitting the brake fluid resivoir on the way over the handlebars and a end-of-class certificate bestowing Most Acrobatic Rider title to me.
Glad you enjoyed the class.
wbsprudelsParticipantI went from the Blast to a Suzuki C50 back in March and have been very happy with my step up. I had both bikes for nearly 3 months and rarely rode the Blast in that time. Always fun to be thinking about the next ride!
wbsprudelsParticipantI saw an episode of Twist the Throttle this week that dealt completely with the history of Suzuki motorcycles with much of the focus centered on the GSX 600. It spoke of being able to adjust the bike for three types of riding: normal, rain, and ?? (I don’t remember the third). I’m pretty sure the mode dial is how you make this adjustment.
wbsprudelsParticipantWelcome from Indianapolis, Jtown. Your story sounds ver similar to mine. I’m 43, never interested in motorcycles until last year when gas hit $4, took the MSF course, bought my first bike, and 8000 miles later having the time of my life!
wbsprudelsParticipantWow, 20 seems high. How do you assign causality? Has the rate decreased since 1979?
wbsprudelsParticipantWelcome from Indianapolis! What’s your sport?
wbsprudelsParticipantinteresting way to look at it, but actually those patients are in separate trials. Some patients may exhibit symptoms of more than one of those disease classes, but not all of them.
wbsprudelsParticipantI design and analyze data from clinical trials. Most of my work has been in depression, schizophrenia, insomnia, and Alzheimer’s Disease.
wbsprudelsParticipantNew windshield? How do you like it? I took my C50 out on the interstate Saturday and the wind was nearly unbearable. I don’t think I want to add a great big windshield, but I like the look of yours. What kind is it? Does it help with cutting into winds?
