So this is a question which is important but unknown= I cant think of a better place to post it-
Can you bargain a price at most dealers or no? I got the feeling HArley doesnt negotiate, but seems like others may? how can you find out to be best prepared for buying?

Harley dealerships seem to vary greatly depending on how much local competition they have. Some charge way over MSRP due to lack of competition and seem as though they won’t budge. Some start at MSRP and can be worked down. But they can all be negotiated with. Just depends on how much of a tool your salesman is.

If it’s a Sportster you’re looking for I’d go the used private seller route. The used market’s very flooded with Sportsters for sale.

Yeah, if you look around you can find awesome deals from private party sales. I just bought a 2005 Sporster Custom from a guy off Craigslist in September 2007. He had only ridden it to and from work, had 1100 miles on it, and a bunch of accessories (sissy bar, luggage rack, windshield, air cleaner, exhaust). Got it from him for $7750.
