MrMoran24Participant
I am really interested in the Ninja 250 but they are sold out almost everywhere in SoCal as well, so I’ve heard. I would like to try and sit on a few different sport bikes to see if I would be comfortable with the forward leaning position. I got the chance to ride a cruiser style (Honda Rebel) and a standard style (Honda Nighthawk) when I took the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course about a month ago. I’m still relatively new to riding and haven’t nailed down anything with regard to my preferred style of motorcycle.

I’m getting ready to take the test for my endorsement soon and also looking for a decent used bike. I’m looking for a 250cc Honda Nighthawk or Kawasaki Ninja. What kind of bikes are you looking at?
“I’m full on legitimate.”MrMoran24ParticipantI’ve heard a lot about that book from several other people. I guess I will have to check it out. It seems to get really high praise for the most part. Again, welcome and good luck this weekend.

I took the MSF course based on advice I got from some of the other, more experienced users. I think you will find the riding portion of the course will put you at ease with riding (properly!) Welcome to the site, from one noob to another, lol!
“I’m full on legitimate.”MrMoran24ParticipantThat sounds awesome! I’m the kind of person that loves to find out how something is put together and I am fairly mechanical. One of the things that I get kind of nervous about when researching bikes is that I don’t know a lot about them, mechanically. Something like what you did would be great for me, I think. Where can you find out about something like this?

MrMoran24ParticipantThanks Rab. That article was a good read and did answer my question. At this point I am eager to learn all that I can about motorcycles, including how specs for different bikes compare.
MrMoran24ParticipantThanks, canstaett! I can’t wait to take the MSF course and get more of an idea of what size bike will best suit me. Thanks to everyone else for the welcome!
MrMoran24ParticipantIt’s great to be a part of such a supportive community. I look forward to sharing my experiences here.
