ive got a mesh jacket for the summer and was looking for a decent cold weather jacket. so ive got one ordered off of newenough.com and it should be here any day now!
jmango95Participantlove it. first bike but amazing plenty o power but nimble enough to throw into a corner and have some fuuuuuuuuun
jmango95Participantsigh…if only i had $35,000 just layin around
jmango95Participantgod i love that machine…and it doesnt matter what bike you have, just because people refer to it as a ‘beginner’ bike doesnt mean you cant ride it like you know a thing or two. thats one of those things that just gets to me calling something a ‘beginner’ whatever. sure its a good starter bike to learn on but just cuz you like riding it doesnt make you a beginner. its not the bike you have its how you ride it!
jmango95Participantriders who are unsafe and who dont wear protective gear while riding. the term squid can be attributed to the sound that is made when one of this people hits the ground, the sound of which is reminiscent of a squid smacking pavement…and they shall be squishy
jmango95Participantwe actually did not stop at all which is the cool thing. went the whole way adn yeah i had an awesome time. since my daad just bought his bike it was his first true ride on it and he said it was great.
jmango95Participantlike jtown this is my first ride and i love it! unlike jtown i didnt choose the dark side. lol the 500 is a great bike and will get you where you need to go with a little more power than the 250. but i also pretty much stole my bike it only had 1600 miles on it and i got it for $1800! its all just fast, affordable, fun!!
jmango95Participantpros:
mountains
not too many people
quite a few bike shops around here also, love to go drool over the ducatiscons:
retarded drivers
drivers look at you like youre something from hell they need to run over
stupid looks from drivers
drivers that feel they have to ride your ass (and without even getting you dinner first)
(ok im done being angry at cagers for now)
weather can change in ten minutes, one day we had snow, hail, rain than sun in a matter of 20 mins, WTF?!?!?!?!?!jmango95Participantwhen i lay in bed about to fall asleep do i stare up at my ceiling thinking if it was right for me to have gotten a motorcycle. i often imagine all that things that could happen to me and all the things that would happen to everyone who i love. scares the shit out of me (pardon the language) but i love to ride and nothing is going to stop me. you just need to understand the risk that is involved and also RESPECT YOUR MACHINE!!! i know some of my own good friends who are complete squids who ride in flip flops and a tank top and i tell them everytime i see them “dont you know what could happen to you?” and they just say well if anything does happen to me id rather be dead then a vegetable. youre more likely to be a vegetable without a helmet than with. whenever i ride its fully geared up. it could be 110 out and i’d still put on my jacket helmet gloves pants boots. i dont go riding without any of it because i want to reduce the chances of something fatal if a crash were to happen. all you can do is make sure to protect yourself and again show RESPECT TO YOUR MACHINE. and that goes also for the situation around you. just be aware and be confident if your skills. fear can get the best of anyone its how you manage that fear that truly shows a persons character.
jmango95Participantim a beginner rider too (in street anyways) but after getting my license and looking for a bike i found this great deal on an 04 500r. now i didnt get it just b/c it was only 1800 bucks with only 1600 on the tac, but also b/c the bike fit me. when i got on it, it just felt right. i had gone down to the dealership before and sat on the new model 250 and my gf freaked out b/c she didnt realise how forward the riding position was and then she yelled at me to get off (sometimes shes worse then my mudda). anyways as we were leaving the dealership i saw a used 500 and wanted to know the difference between the two so i sat on it and as aformentioned it just felt right. so now ive been riding the 500 which is perfect for me to learn on and is one that i plan on having for awhile. regardless of looks, power, or so-called lack of, i ride what i ride because it suits me, i can learn better riding on it and well yeah finances lol. and about not getting an older 250 its not b/c i think there is something wrong with them i just found a bike i really liked and went with it and havent regreted anything since.
jmango95Participantid stay away from buells the geometry on them is just…off. i have been ridin an 04 ninja 500 and love it and im only 5’6″ 140 lol but it would fit a bigger rider too.
jmango95Participantfor all the info on those helmets that afx one looks sweet! It amazes me how many manufacturers go completely unnoticed it seems. But anyways thanks for the review.
jmango95Participantsurprisingly everything does fit me…really well. its kinda weird but the woman who sold me the bike was pretty much the same size as me im 5′ 6″. the jacket has no tears or any other imperfections (other than the sitting in the garage for awhile musty smell…really, it all smells like that). the helmet itself is about a year and half old (huge guesstimation, yes its a word) so yeah im goin to probably get a new helmet. have been looking at the gmax 68s. looks sweet and got an award in wanna say 07 for being helmet of the year from webBikeWorld. also im cleaning out my carbs with my friend who is cmt certified and hes also gonna look over all my gear for me. so ill know my bike inside and out and be safe as can be. heres the sight for that helmet. http://www.gmaxhelmet.com
