ParticipantYou could also take a look at the Thor 50-50 boots.

ParticipantOften they’ll give a good rate loan even with zero down (depends on your credit rating though). It amounts to an obscure-bank credit card. My wife’s bike was done that way — zero down, 5% interest, 5 years. I wouldn’t so the zero down though – that’ll get you upside down on the loan right quickly.

ParticipantThe few Shark helmets I’ve seen in shops just don’t fit my strange head shape, so I have no personal experience wearing them. There are some great reviews, however, on WebBikeWorld:

ParticipantSo I’ll just add:
What they ^^^ said.

ParticipantThey’ve got a review of that helmet, with pics including the chin bar.

ParticipantAnd I mean Never:
* Ride tired.
* Ride angry.
* Ride in a hurry.June 5, 2009 at 7:15 pm in reply to: How to convince dad to let me get a ninja 250 instead of cruiser? #19370briderdt
ParticipantMy wife rides a Suzuki C50. I ride an SV650. Cruiser/sporty. We manage to make it work.
Though she’s convinced our “next bike” will be a Goldwing. I don’t think so…

ParticipantI think they do the speedo thing so that you’re less likely to get a ticket. Or at least that’s one of the theories.
You can correct the speedo calibration by bumping up to a 120/70 front tire, but then the odo will be off. Or you can do a speedo-healer routine (don’t ask me what that exactly is, I really have no idea, I’ve just heard about it).briderdt
ParticipantI hit the horn button several times looking for the turn signal button… It’ll get better. I think now I’d have to LOOK for the horn button to hit it if I wanted to.
And I stalled my bike coming off a stop sign the same way. Unfortuantely I did it on a turn, and dropped the bike (okay, more like an easy set-down).
Friction zone will become second nature quickly. Just keep at it.

ParticipantI think it just denotes the design iteration (minor changes over the life of the product).

ParticipantMy ’05 has been getting 55-58 mpg since February (when I started tracking it). I’m no speed demon, but I’m also not light on the throttle off the line either.

Participant…that the same thing could happen in a car. I’ve watched people nearly slam into the back of parked trailers before, only narrowly swerving to miss. And this on otherwise lightly trafficked roads. And while the ear buds are illegal, I really don’t think they contributed to the accident.

ParticipantOr is it your big head?
[ducking for cover, hoping that this is taken as the good-natured jab it was meant to be]

ParticipantThere was only one person who dumped the bike in my MSF class (and unfortunately, that was during the test, and it was just an oops on forgetting to put down the side stand), and the instructors righted the bike fore her. I wish we’d had an exercise in picking up the bike though.

ParticipantRed or green for visibility.
But which colour (sorry, just can’t type that with a straight face) do YOU like best?
