ParticipantI’ve got a laptimer receiver. All the providers here provide the transmitter. Times are recorded automagically. plus when I cut the vids, the times are there too.

Participanthaha! yeh, i picked up the new suit about a couple months ago after lowsiding at infineon. It’s seen i think 5 trackdays before this one. Which track(s) do you run? And why aren’t you posting any frickin’ vids? POST SOME! I dun wanna be the only one posting trackday vids…

Participanti like my sport bikes because they’re sleek, sexy, and fast… and to me they’re perfectly fine commuting around town. did i mention fast?
I especially like passing bigger displacement bikes with more HP in the corners and sometimes even on the straights. Takes some work, but once you start hitting “A” paced times, there’s no better feeling than hitting an outside pass or taking a corner faster than the majority of other riders can/would take it or just the fact you start perceiving 120+ MPH as not fast. Get a sports bike, go to the track, and you’ll begin to understand.

Participantgood god… what’s with the huge ass cans? Rocket launchers? That bike’s quite ugly imo and the ergos look even worse than the super sport bikes.

Participantwelcome to the forums.
Absolutely start off with the BRC. http://www.msf-usa.org/index_new.cfm?spl=2&action=display&pagename=RiderCourse%20Info
Do this course before buying anything as you may find when taking the course that motorcycling might not be for you.

ParticipantLast of the vids. The Raw vids may or may not be full vids. Veoh looks like they do preview vids for vids greater than 20 minutes. You can click the download buttons and watch them on your own machine, or download their webplayer plugin for IE… yeh it sucks. “Session 3 BP view” is the full vid though since my camera on that session stopped for some reason at about 7+ minutes.
2:13 lap front view – Youtube vid since it’s better vid quality.

Participantjust get yourself a set of power pilot 2cts. Perfect for the track and you can ride them in the street. I got 12 trackdays out of them before switching them out due to paranoia… it had enough meat for another 2 or 3 though. You won’t need the special race tires until you start hitting lower-mid advanced pace times…

ParticipantOne thing to remember, don’t let mistakes get to you. There is no way to automatically fail the BRC, unless you drop the bike, so don’t dwell on any mistakes that might happen during the rider test. Take a deep breath like the capt. said and concentrate on the next portion of the test.

Participant20 K since april of last year… about 2k of those miles are track miles. All miles on my bikes are fun miles since even mundane commuting is better on a motorcycle.

Participantooga booga! call me uncivilized… *shrugs*

Participanttake it to a different shop. There is most likely a reason for your bike dying. take it to some one who will pull it apart and check every bit of the engine, gas tank, fuel lines, etc.
