ParticipantSeems everyone is more worried about the way it looks than visibility. In that sense, I think it will look great, and that it will throw in some contrast to my other dark gear. I’m going in today to buy my helmet. I am going to put on the jacket and back protector with it to see how it all feels and looks. Put on a little fashion show for CycleGear lol
Elias
ParticipantTrade in for the 650R, they come stock with LED’s
If I were buying new LED bulbs, I would buy from http://www.v-leds.com/ because I have done research and they seem to offer Putco LED’s (high-quality/high-price) for way less than actually buying Putco. BUT, I have not bought from them before, this is just what my findings have directed me toward.

Participantlol, yeah I am not worried about looking like Elvis or a bedazzled stuntman, lol. The jacket screams “street.”
I can’t find a picture of a white one anywhere, but it is essentially this jacket with the colors flipped:
Elias
ParticipantOh man I am still stuck then. I guess I am just picturing myself…Black bike, matte black helmet, black boots, ??? pants, and a black jacket?! I’m going to look like a freakin night rider. In my head it looks goofy as shit, but I get 60 days ‘good-as-cash’ when I buy the jacket tomorrow, so maybe I’ll give white a go. I have put it on, and it doesn’t have that Thriller look at all
But if it doesn’t work for me after 60 days, then night rider it is…
BTW this Dainese is going to run me $410..for a Dainese leather I give that a thumbs up!!
Elias
ParticipantSweet! Thanks for the review WZ, I have been hearing great things…I am picking mine up tomorrow for a steal: $359 (compared to $579)
can’t wait
Elias
ParticipantHe posted a vid 4 days ago, I know this because I just discovered his YT channel tonight and tying a personality to the Admin was entertaining for me, lol…anyways, he’s alive!
Elias
Participant“Love to chit-chat, but I got riding to do.”
*sigh*…I just got pwnd
Yeah, if you thought the BRC bikes weren’t underpowered then no doubt you’re happy on your 250. Me for one, I’m going to require a bit more push because that nighthawk felt like it was barely moving, but yes, just fine for 20 mph.
Let us know what you learn on this ride!
Elias
Participantwere you obsessively neurotic about researching everything about the bike you wanted, and how to be as safe as possible on it? If yes, then you’re spot on!

ParticipantI will be riding my Ninja with an enduro and a sportster…talk about diversity and equality!
Elias
ParticipantWhen I sell cars, I ask for a cashiers check issued from my bank or cash. But I have learned not to trust strangers very easily. When I buy my $6k+ Ninja in two months, I am paying with cash, but for negotiation reasons. Dealerships love love love cash, and will usually drop the price quite a bit if you pay cash up front. As for buying from a person, they love cash too, but will be less willing to reduce the price for it.
Elias
ParticipantYeah I totally agree with you. I guess I am asking because I am more interested in if the 250 ninja would be enough for me if I did get it. You make a good ‘beginner mistake’ point, but I am no beginner to the mechanics of a bike. I have been riding manuals my whole life. I’m just trying to compare the power of the two because I took the BRC on a 250 and I thought it was super sluggish, even for PLP. I have also ridden my friend’s 250 enduro and it’s a bit underpowered for my tastes as well. Not that I want to go really fast really quick, but it just feels like a scooter. Maybe I should ask you this:
Did you take the BRC, and if you did what CC did you ride? If it was a 250, did you feel like the bike had enough power during the BRC tests?
Elias
ParticipantYEAH! APOLOGIZE YOU JERK!
haha, just kidding. I always appreciate your comments, even the sarcastic ones. It’s good to have people like you around because if I always got the answer I was expecting I wouldn’t learn anything new. You are right about the stats, they are just numbers. They don’t make riding any safer or more dangerous. I was just sharing because the amount of crashes were lower than I thought they would be. Guess I should have titled this thread “Riding Has Fewer Crashes Than I Thought!”
Elias
ParticipantYeah, I agree. I would probably aim it myself, but I know the technique’s because I have done it before. I’ll probably look into it further after I get the bike, and determine how much it will cost.
I am totally going to be riding with my high beams during the day, hell, I don’t even plan to ride at night for a while…might as well get SOME use out of my headlights!
Elias
ParticipantYes, I plan on getting one within the next few months. Although HID’s do produce a brighter and longer beam than traditional halogens, I feel I am pushing this mod for the purpose that you mentioned above:
“I think that my attention is drawn to HIDs because I think “oh hey, that’s a neat headlight””
I want to be seeeen, and people notice ‘neat’ things on the road
