ParticipantThats a bummer to hear that about the Vulcan, I hope it is an easy fix, it is one of my favorite bikes.

ParticipantThat is….. FUCKING AWESOME!!! Oh man, that is so cool! I wish I would have had the know how to do something like this, but eventually I just caved and spent the money on a Givi rack system. Great post budd!

ParticipantI’ve known people that have started on r1’s and other liter bikes and they are still alive and kicking. Granted they only like going in straight lines… but to each their own I suppose.

ParticipantAh yes I do have those,
The both seemed fine to me, but I’m assuming the reason it is sticking you in the hand is quality control and the gloves are not identical. The gloves are good for their cost, but they are not going to be as great as some 80 dollar race gloves.

ParticipantListen to SBL not me, I don’t really know anything about tailoring haha. See this is why the forum is great, without SBL I might have ruined your gloves!

ParticipantWhich gloves are you refering to, I have some shift gloves I was going to review but I didn’t think I posted them yet.
Sometimes differences can be either because one hand is slightly larger/smaller than the other or because the gloves aren’t identical. Is it a poke because the glove is too small, or because there is something inside of the glove? Maybe try turning the offending glove inside out and see if you can snip whatever is poking you?

Participanthmm… I think I would disagree with that, but my opinion is based completely on theory. It would seem if you started to hydroplane if you just kept going straight you are eventually going to hit pavement unless you are driving into a lake. As long as you don’t make any sudden moves or anything I think you should be alright. Although the only time I’ve hydroplaned was in a car.

ParticipantVery nice!
I’d love to get my hands on that bike to review!

ParticipantThe reason why a lot of ducatis use a dry clutch is because of the cool sounds it makes, duh!!!
Ben
~Best Beginner Motorcycles Admin(Side note, first time I heard a ducati I was like, “Man, that motorcycle definitely needs a tune up, listen to it idle! It sounds like a bunch of bolts rattling around in a can.”)

ParticipantDon’t sell yourself short Rupmisc, you made a good post as well.

ParticipantIt all depends on what your level of comfort is. I already put on enough gear as it is and I couldn’t imagine adding another piece! Jacket, helmet, gloves, pants, boots!

ParticipantWow! Glad to hear you are ok! Motorcycles falling on your legs are no fun (I speak from experience) but it’s good that the adrenaline was flowing so you could life the bike off yourself. You are going to be sore tomorrow haha.
We learn the most from our mistakes/failures than we do from our successes.

Participant1. A heavier bike might help a bit, but in general you are going to get blown around a lot when you are on a motorcycle. You just get used to it eventually and you stop trying to ‘fight’ the wind and you become relaxed and sort of flow with it.
From what I understand about wind you will be blown around the more aero dynamic you are if it is a cross wind, and the more ‘boxy’ you are the less you will be effect by cross wind. I can’t remember where I heard that unfortunately, but I’m sure some google research would either prove or disprove that statement pretty quick. A large windscreen will help for wind coming from the front.
2. I don’t know if the Ninja 250 would be a ‘downgrade’ but if I was already comfortable with the 400 I would probably go for the Vulcan 500 or the Ninja 500. The newer Ninja 250’s are great bikes and leaps and bounds better than the older version (at least in my opinion, but a new rider might not be able to feel the difference). Everyone that I know that has ridden the ninja 500 seems to like it quite a bit.
I would also suggest the vulcan just because I REALLY REALLY want that bike lol haha. But from what I understand the Vulcan 500 and the Ninja 500 engines are very similar.

ParticipantYeah I’m hoping it will too. Basically i’m just creating static pages that way all the anon users don’t have to fetch content from the database all the time.
*Crosses fingers*
