Jaja i like the pun lol…Umm, shuts off both when in neutral and trying to throttle up as well as when in first clutch engaged and trying to throttle up to get moving. 20k miles on the bike, as far as the air or fuel filter i wouldn’t know because 1.i have no clue where they are lol just got the bike and 2 not sure if i wanna be taking the thing apart to try and find them. As far as the seal i also wouldnt know lol i was kinda hoping seafoam would take care of all that crap…Any suggestions as far as links or places to visit that might guide me in this ordeal? Thanks for the quick reply!

I also have the IS-16 and love the helmet, fits great, good circulation and like they’ve said before the built in sun visor is the niftiest and most useful add on to a helmet i have found. Good luck!

I figured you did something aviation related although for a second there i thought it might have been jet fighter pilot lol. I will look online, thanks.

Elias thanks for the Ebay tip, unfortunately i had already checked there and the few jackets that they do have there for 149$ are either a color that doesn’t match my bike or are the wrong size (too big or too small :() but i’ll keep looking in hopes something turns up.

As far as the bike goes, it’s the first bike i have owned personally but i have ridden for a while. From the 20 minutes or so i got to ride it yesterday (Hasn’t stopped raining for about a week now here in Florida) the bike felt great! The bike has plenty of power yet i don’t feel like im gonna lose it. The throttle is also very smooth and manageable so overall i say great bike! The only thing that remains is to take it out on the open road and see how it fairs, but that wont come for another week or two.

Yea i can see why they are so popular, in my opinion it is, like everyone says the best bang for the buck and its not bad on the eyes either. I have looked at other recommended beginner bikes like the ninja 500 etc..but hate the retro look they have.

I guess i’ll just have to keep waiting it out and hope my perfect bike shows itself SOON…I’m also going to take your advice and post a wanted ad on CL, hadn’t really thought about it.

    Thanks for the help SantaCruz

P.S. If you have any other recommendations as far as “beginner bikes” that look or have the styling of the sv650s i would love to hear em, so far the only one that semi-fits the part is the 250r but i have come to the conclusion that it’s not enough bike for my needs.

Eon, i don’t know know if, like you said, there is anything more you could have done it really sounds like the driver had their head in the wrong place. Thinking about it i would probably opt to run the red light like you said next time (so long as it has just turned red) the way i see it, as long as my front wheel was over the white line it’s LEGAL lol…Anyways, i guess the only thing you could have done was gone through with your escape plan, but even that you said you wouldn’t have had enough time, seems like the only thing left is a lot of flicking off, cursing and reflecting as you are doing.

Glad to hear you are O.K.

I could not agree more, and yes the article is a little scarce on details but i thought it would be a great reminder to all of the importance of not only being safe but finding responsible ways to deal with your need for speed.
