Let us know how your final day went expecting higher (lower) marks then I. I scored a 13… I fluttered the throttle on the 170 degree turn … last 2 cones… doh! >< . And broke plane once in the "figure 8" hopefully you do better....but hey ...pass is pass and I just got my endorsement today.... I'll take spiccnspam's drink.... keep the olive. Friends don't let friends ..... wait... wrong public announcement.... ummm...... underage drinking is .... dang it....daddy mode kicks in....signing out before I start handing out restrictions. Yesterday is a memory, tomorrow is a prediction, but today…… is a Bi**h
September 24, 2008 at 2:32 am #12617spiccnspamParticipantlike hell your gonna take my drink! even though its not…real.
September 24, 2008 at 2:38 am #12618AnonymousGuestheh, and I thought I said some pretty rude things…
calm down everyone, take a step back, go to your happy place, shake hands and play nice, like Ran and I did
so I may still not be overly clear, after wading through the pissing contests here, but I’ll ask anyway.
are you saying that the instructors weren’t actually giving much attention to the students in the class? you mentioned something about them being more busy hitting on the translator than teaching the students. so were the instructors just paying lip service to the class? if so then I could see THAT class (that specific class, not MSF in general, and not even specifically that location’s usual MSF class) being a waste of time and money. how are the other students reacting? any of them thinking it’s a waste of time and money? if so then it might be a legitimate issue. $250 isn’t small change for most of us, and I know if I went to a class I had to pay $250 for, only to have bored instructors ignoring me to hit on some hot chick would make me more than a bit irritated.
if you were expecting having your own private instructor holding your hand throughout the class for that $250…well…I wouldn’t know what to tell you. but it doesn’t sound like you expected THAT much. my guess it’s somewhere in between. maybe you figured out a few more things than a lot of newbies had on your own, maybe the instructors were phoning in the class more than usual, the result is you feel a bit ripped off.
if the instructors aren’t running the class properly (and by that I mean they’re actually ignoring the students, not just you, and spending their time chatting up the chick while people are dumping the bikes right and left) then yeah I’d demand my money back. if it’s just a bit too “simple” for you…well…not much you can likely do but deal with it and be glad you’ve intuitively learned enough to make the MSF “boring”
September 24, 2008 at 2:39 am #12619AmorylParticipantsorry, didn’t realise I wasn’t signed in
RabParticipantActually I *was* kidding with the “know it all” line, but obviously you didn’t get it.
Hint: This is where you start cursing some more and I ignore you, or alternatively, you think better of it and don’t.
September 24, 2008 at 4:10 am #12628dcJohnParticipantCongrats on getting your endorsement!
September 24, 2008 at 5:07 am #12632smokeizfireParticipantDead on Mr Anonymous. Not in the initial post, but in another post I said that instructors were telling me”good job” when I know I wasn’t following their specific directions properly. This occurred more than once. No one was dropping bikes or anything like that, but my instructors seemed preoccupied at times; bored out of their minds.
I enjoyed myself. But as I’ve stated,. I feel as though I wasn’t challenged due to various circumstances such as, a hot interpreter for the 3 hearing impaired fellas in my class(very cool guys by the way) which prove to be a distraction for at least 1 of the instructors, and both being over-whelmed having to give special attention to the hearing impaired. Our class ran 1 hour longer than the other sessions because of the instructors having to accommodate the disabled students. Not a problem in the sense that they should do everything they can to accommodate the disabled. However, they should make sure that every student, no exceptions, should get their moneys worth.

September 24, 2008 at 5:16 am #12633AmorylParticipantthat was me.
if they were overwhelmed due to special demands from disabled people, then sucks to be you, but crap happens. if they were just lazy and bored, then they suck and make a stink. if it was somewhere inbetween, talk to someone, explain that you really felt as though there was far too much going on with them that resulted in not having been given “proper” instruction. mention their barely passing nods at you while you were clearly making mistakes out there and not receiving any correction or advice. see if they can slip you into at least the hands on part of another class, one where the instructors won’t be quite so…distracted. many times businesses are willing to work with someone if that doesn’t result in a cash refund. I doubt they’ll put you back through the entire class, but they might let you take the riding part again, especially since you’ve got your own bike to practice on. or they might not…either way, doesn’t hurt to ask.
September 24, 2008 at 7:34 am #12634TheAbomb12ParticipantI apologize for calling you a tool the first time. I thought you were being flippant and rude (and overall a non-nice person) to Megaspaz; but reading over it again, I suppose it wasn’t too bad.
I stand by my words of calling you a tool the second time for the simple reason that you’ve been rude, arrogant, and a smart ass and with no real good reason other than you probably have sand in your vagina.
you need to give respect before you can expect to receive it.
September 24, 2008 at 12:56 pm #12635ranetteParticipantNot psychic at all. It’s just that you attacked, or at the very least questioned the necessity of one of the sacred cows of beginning motorcycle riding, the MSF class. You my friend are a brave brave man.
September 24, 2008 at 12:59 pm #12636Sangria7Participant“Can you feel..the luv tonite…..” (elton john voice)
September 24, 2008 at 3:09 pm #12645smokeizfireParticipant…..dick the second time! And what was so arrogant about any of my post preceding YOUR attacks? The real question is why do you want to get me started again? 1st you apologize for your weak attempt to insult me for what you thought was “flippant and rude”.
Then in the midst of the apology you still attempt to insult me. Spaz and I are cool (prior and post this thread) and I’m sure he can handle himself. Spaz and I go at each other(in friendly sarcasm) all the time. He took it exactly the way I dished it(not as disrespect or arrogance), as a joke!!!!!! You sure you’re not the one with the vagina? Ur awfully sensitive when you take offense to something, and the person who it was directed to does not.
Now I guess you expect me to be respectful to you now, after all of what you said.
You need to mind your business when you think you are pouring water on the fire, and there’s gasoline in your hands. You may get yourself burned! Here ends the lesson.

September 24, 2008 at 3:29 pm #12646smokeizfireParticipantAfter all, they’re the ones who give out the ol P, or the dreaded F. At this point I am just ready to get my license; do more research on safety which led me to this forum in the 1st place, and continue practicing good tips I’ve learned along the way. I still remain a student even as a driver because new situations and driving conditions cause you to learn new things no matter how long you’ve been driving. The best lesson I’ve learned from class is that nothing is absolute. You have to flow and move with nature, little grasshopper. Survival depends on how quick and effective you react to danger and hazards. I get it! : — )

September 24, 2008 at 3:32 pm #12647TheAbomb12Participantoh yeah… clearly I’m the sensitive one.
Maybe you should read; I just said I took back your exchange with spaz, and realized what it was (sarcasm). That still leaves no room for you to be calling people assholes on a forum and not expect anything back from it; only tools do that… and the reason I called you a tool.
stop acting obnoxious and take your head out your ass. Or don’t, I don’t care– My intention was not to stop your from doing anything (so called fuel to flame). If you wish to act like a monkey on a forum, be my guest
All you’re doing is proving my original point.
