I think rab has a point, quit the course and ask for a refund if it sucked that much. you were also kind of a butthead to megaspaz…
September 23, 2008 at 10:32 pm #12589ilnamParticipantwow. I don’t think Rab meant to offend you like he did with his original comment. And now it’s just getting worse because of the misunderstanding. many of these posts aren’t helpful, so where’s budd with one of his great comments to lighten the air? budddd…?
September 23, 2008 at 10:33 pm #12590smokeizfireParticipantas Marilyn Monroe’s does to JFK in 2008. Next @sshole in line!

September 23, 2008 at 10:39 pm #12592megaspazParticipantlet’s be fair here. you original post doesn’t leave much to be interpreted except for you being upset at spending 245 bucks. It’s steep, i agree and after riding for a while, i realized that you only get basic workings of a motorcycle and dealing with traffic without going into traffic. How much you learn after the BRC is up to how you ride and the conditions you ride in. If you’re just commuting to work, you probably know everything about traffic tendencies in your riding commute and the stuff the brc teaches probably seems like a waste of time since you might not see a lot of the stuff like blind turns, decreasing radius turns, increasing radius turns, etc. Basically, we all filter out what is necessary to us at the time and make judgements based on what we deem is immediately necessary for us.
And your title suggests you expected to get flamed (not saying rab flamed you, it was rather tame, not like you’d see on barf), but then take exception to what was posted. Rab’s been riding for a while and has always given solid advice and never in a dick way… and he did on his know it all comment which always denotes kidding. Either way, this thread has certainly gone way off topic and way off civility. I’d suggest take it down a notch. We get the point you don’t think the BRC is worth 250 bucks. After hearing about some states providing this course for free, 250 bucks looks like a gip to me too. haha… I look at the fee as getting discounts at gear shops, insurance discounts, and avoiding the dmv rider test which is harder than the brc. There’s posts everywhere about riders with 20 years riding experience asking to borrow a scooter or a beginner, low cc bike for taking the test. There’s also posts everywhere about said type of riders failing the dmv rider test. Where you get to do the rider test of the brc at a decent mph, the dmv wants you to do everything around 5mph or slower.
either way, there’s other things to do than get all worked up on the internet… like riding some tasty twisties…

around, I want it caught and shot now…September 23, 2008 at 10:50 pm #12594spiccnspamParticipantThis is true, it is only the interwebz. BUT you did say flamers flame on for the posts title and somebody flamed you, don’t get so mad when someone does what you ask. and now i just realized how redundant that is saying megaspaz just said what i am saying now.
September 23, 2008 at 11:32 pm #12598smokeizfireParticipantOk, ok, maybe I was a little too trigger happy expecting that every comment was, however big or small, direct or indirect, an attack on my opinion of the BRC. Most were nott, however, some in my opinion were neither helpful to me or others.
Examples:”….wow you’re such a tool….”, “…the class is not made for tools….”, “…Looks like you’re bitchin’ more about the cost of the course than anything else.If you haven’t completed the last session, then aren’t you a bit premature in dissing the whole course? Maybe you’re just a know it all Sorry your experience of *your* MSF course wasn’t what you would’ve wished, but be aware that you’re probably in the minority, as you’re the only person I’ve ever heard saying that they didn’t think it was any good…..”, and “….I think rab has a point, quit the course and ask for a refund if it sucked that much. you were also kind of a butthead to megaspaz…”
How does any of those posts help any one? And please explain to spiccnspam, then explain to me how I was a “butthead” to you? Spaz, you know we agree to disagree with each other, and we both are sarcastic as hell. All in fun. Agree?
Maybe I didn’t post all the DETAILS in the title thread about my dissatisfaction this weekend. Maybe everyone doesn’t read every post in the thread, then respond to it like I do. And, maybe I’m such a noob that I didn’t know that : – ) meant I’m kidding(even though it still doesn’t seem like Rab was to me…not 1% even).
I think in all fairness to me, people may have mistaken my initial post as discouraging new riders from taking the course(not the intention). You are one of the members whose opinion I value such as Elwood, Budd, Munch, Amoryl, and of course Ben the Admin. When I first registered as a member, I was looking to purchase a bike. Most of you guys posts shaped my choice in terms of size(that is why I don’t have a Vulcan 900 right now LOL).

September 24, 2008 at 12:20 am #12601kirkParticipantChill out dude! I’ve seen disagreements and misunderstandings on these posts before but I’ve haven’t seen the level of anger you display. Everyone is civil and I think we can agree that we all just want to help each other out. Your vulgarity is uncalled for. If you value most everyones opinion on this site as little as you say you do then perhaps you should visit another site.
September 24, 2008 at 1:03 am #12603smokeizfireParticipant??????? Another misrepresentation. Another attack that I am suppose to be civil about. As long as this is America, I may defend myself with vulgarity as I please! And perhaps, you may not want to know where I think you should go.
