We’ve had the V500 for about five months now and things have gone pretty good. Until the morning temps fell into the low 30s, I rode to work almost every day.
The only problem I’ve had is on wet leaves in my own driveway. I’ve fallen three times in nearly the same spot in two weeks. I think the main problem is that that portion is muddy and the wet leaves act like a slip n’ slid when you cross them. Well, I know where to start grading and adding gravel when the weather warms up!fireballParticipantWell, we were able to finally get our ducks in a row and buy a bike. After much deliberation we bought a 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 500 last week. So far I’ve cruised around the county and commuted to work a couple of times.
fireballParticipantHowdy,
I just saw your post. I’m from Davie County. I have a lot of relatives that graduated from App including my Mother. Great riding of all types all over the NC mountains.
fireballParticipantSounds like a plan. Just give me time to get some wheels (may be a a while though, my truck went kaput this morning. 24 years and it up and quits on me!).
fireballParticipantI’m a CNC machinist responsible for an automated machining cell. I also attend Embry-Riddle online majoring in Technical Management. I’ve been in the Army (11B), in law enforcement, a dive store manager, retail gun dealer, but above all a Dad.
fireballParticipantThat was freakin’ cool !!!
OK now back to typing like a 40 year old. Those kind of bikes are what reignited the riding fire in me. I had dirt bikes when I was a kid, but when I got my first car I left them in the dirt [ no back seat ]. Then one day about a year ago I was walking down the sidewalk in Maggie Valley, NC and spotted two mud splattered BMW GS1200s with panniers, GPS , the works. Even though I was surrounded by cruisers of all makes, the Adventure bikes are what caught my eye and lit the fire.fireballParticipantCharlotte has HOV lanes.
