You want a visu-filter model 701C. They are like $3 each and last about 2k miles or so.

We got an 08 Rebel. Very forgiving bike and amazingly looks pretty darn good IMO for what it is.

Couple of things to consider, splice an inline fuel filter into the fuel line as the Rebel has neither a fuel or oil filter. So frequent oil changes is a must as it is a wet clutch. I also bought one of those magnetic drain plugs to collect metallic bits and pieces although it will not do much for aluminum bits and pieces as these air cooled twins have lots of that.

Also, remember to turn the fuel petcock off everynight as some have reported gas getting into the oil…not sure but sound practice.

And like Elwood said, take the MSF class (most likely they will teach on a Rebel too)

    Ride safe!

    Shift Racing Vendetta Black/Red.

This one had all my criteria:

    1. Color accents for visibility.
    2. Thick 1.2-1.4mm leather.
    3. Elbow/Shoulder armour.
    4. Good looks and quality and fit.
    5. Moderately priced.

So I got all my ATGATT now.

I just went to go look at the Honda Rebel here in So.Cal and the dealer was going to tack on an extra $1600 for freight/setup? The MSRP is only $3200. WTF!

Thanks. That is kind of what I was thinking. Sort of like the Ducati’s.

My second choice is the Suzuki SV650 which is all over this site. It has good looks, good price and seems like it is more suited to my level. But dang, those BMW’s are nice.
