BankParticipant
aww man i’m so lucky my girl doesnt mind me riding. Its probably due to the fact that her dad has an interest in bikes so I suppose shes used to it by now.
But most women hold double standards. They want you to support them in whatever they do, but sometimes its hard to get the same support returned. I can understand her not wanting you to ride it because its “un-safe”, but she should still support the things you wan to do and are passionate about. I think you just need to sit down with her and talk to her about it. Find out her specific reasons for not wanting you to ride and try your best to clear up any doubts or questions that she has. Her fear might just be from ignorance about the culture. I dunno if that helps or not, but it just a suggestion.
BankParticipantAnd if nothing else, park it in a pretty open place. My cousin parked hers deep in a wal mart parking lot because she didnt want someone hitting it or fooling with it, and when she came out, it was gone. Luckily she had some kind of gps device or something like that to track down the guys that did it, but i tell you man she almost died of a heart attack. And i live in Valdosta, Ga. Its no where near the size of LA or Miami.
I usually park mine on the those lines usually found at the front of the parking lot near handicapped spaces (not sure of the real name for it) and ive had no problems with cops or anything like that. Most places would rather u do that than to take up a space for their precious cars. (And its a nice little way of showing off your baby) Plus, sometimes if u park in the normal spaces and you get surrounded by big autos, someone might pull into your space thinking its open and before you know it….BAM!!!
BankParticipantI dont see the point in making non DOT helmets anyways…they should make that a law or something stating that ALL helmets must be DOT certified before they can be put up for sale. I dunno…i just dont see how a company could actually spend time, moeny and resources making a non approved helmet.
BankParticipantMan thank you guys so much….im not really up on all the cruisers and you guys have been a big help….I’ll tell him what u siad about the vulcan and be on the lookout for the virago 535 u were talking about. ANd i didnt know that about the shadows, the last thing this dude will need is to be jammed up between 2 cars with no way to get outta there….thanks a bunch
BankParticipantthanks matt…theres a few shadows on our craigslist, so i might check them out and see what he thinks of them, and then i’ll just take him down to the kawi dealer and have him check the vulcans. as far as i know, hes just wanting a bike for commuting and/or crusing around….so a 500 or 600 should be all he needs….i was just unsure if he could get away with a 250 but i dont think he could
BankParticipantI think the green and purple screams “classic kawi”
BankParticipantElwood you brought up a good point. Dont let the “high school peer pressure” ruin your riding. Dont be intimidated into purchasing or riding something that you cant handle just because some other people are giving you crap about how “their 600’s and 1000’s are better than your 250…blah blah blah…” They all seem to forget that they were beginners before too.
