I loved mine!… though she is gone now making another person happy. She’s quick and nimble, even managed to put a “Softail” to shame on my way to work…don’t ask. I see you have a “sissy bar” lucky! I couldn’t find an affordable one for mine.
Oh well I jumped up to the 900 Classic LT it came with everything needed, one tip… if she ever starts stalling on you , especially after filling up, open the gas cap and then restart. If she doe sit continuously, get a mechanic to check the fuel lines under the seat. For a while there was a bad rash of fuel vent lines getting pinched. Id no pinched lines found get new cap and gasket. Common problem, hard to find people who remember it.

Started on a Honda Nighthawk 250 and wish I still had it for a second bike. It’s good for pretty much everything except long freeway trips.

I moved on to a Triumph Bonneville (fun bike to own but a bit heavy) and now have a Suzuki GSX650F (good all-rounder).

Nothing too big or expensive as I put lots of lane-splitting commuting miles on my bikes.

Started on a used 2003 Honda Rebel 250, put 1500 miles on her before buying 2009 Suzuki VStrom 650. Glad I started on the Rebel. I’ve still got the Rebel though in the time that I’ve put 1500mi on the VStrom I’ve probably only put a 300 on the Rebel. She’s still fun for everything except freeway.

My first and only bike is a 2006 white Honda Rebel 250 (Piglet). I just got her running again after some carb issues =)

As 250s go, that Ninja sure is pretty. I don’t care for the bug-guts-green color scheme, but their other colors look really nice. Someday, when I get my wife to ride, maybe I can get her on something like that. And of course, I would need to take it out on the country roads, just to make sure that everything was okay with it….

My “first” bike was a CZ250 when I was 13yo… Then when I turned 39 I got back into bikes and bought an ’02 Yamaha V-Star 650 Custom.. Been riding it since last Sept. and still loving it.. I think I’ll probably move up to a bigger bike this summer if I can afford it and give the 650 to my gf.. She keeps asking me when she’s gonna get the bike.. Either way.. I don’t feel like I’m in any rush for anything else.. Who knows.. I may just buy another 650 for her.

How thoughtful of you to test it out for her like that Clay.. ;)

Clay, I agree, I loved how that Ninja looked in black. I’m glad I moved up to the Versys, but it’s not nearly as purty as the Ninja was.

Mine WILL be a V Star 250. I recently was at the Yamaha dealership while they unpacked her from the crate and pieced her together. Thing of beauty she is. Unfortunately I won’t be able to get the necessary insurance that gets her from there garage into mine until February 4th. Then I’ll only be able to sit on her and admire until May when I’ll take the MSF and take her out to stretch her legs on the road. Guess it’s not a bad thing. Even if I could ride her now we’ve got Mount Redoubt up here about to erupt. I don’t think I need to explain to anybody here that combustion engines don’t do well with volcanic ash in them.

I drive a green Kawasaki KLX250s. Its fun in the mud as well as on the road. I love it. Almost to light for high speed road travel though.

Had a 2005 250 ninja. Now have a kawasaki green wrist cast. Will be sporting my wife’s 50cc generic scooter until she comes around to letting me get another bike.

First : Nighthawk 250 2008; great first bike, although would now start with a bike that had disc brakes. Will be selling.
Second: Ducati 696+ 2009; haven’t decided. Great bike with ergo issue for me. Never going to be perfect. But rides great.
Third: Ducati Multistrada 1100S 2008; foolish person’s Versys. Can’t wait for the Spring. Can no do overnight, go shopping, have panniers. Good all rounder.

Drooling over: Ducati 848, 1198s, Street Triple R, 2009 Daytona. Curious about Honda CBR600 with new ABS system.

My first bike is a Suzuki LS650 2002, had 700 miles on it, I bought it August 2008. It’s single cylinder and I’m not intimidated by it’s “power”. It’s pretty Tame. I sat on some other bikes that I was completely intimidated by but this one was perfect. I’ll ride it into the ground this coming season and possibly next and then get something with more power. Hopefully the snow melts soon.

Maybe I shouldn’t use the phrase riding it into the ground, well, you know what I mean.
