If you’re a cruiser rider or have a standard motorcycle, an open face helmet can be a great option. I prefer a full-face lid, and I honestly wear a modular most of the time, but that said, my first helmet was a half helmet.

Of course, I couldn’t make this list without including the Bell Pit Boss Helmet. This helmet is the one that I would recommend first to any rider out there looking for a half helmet. The Bell Pit Boss comes with a good list of features, solid construction, and plenty of style.
The helmet features a lightweight kevlar, carbon fiber, and fiberglass shell that comes in two different sizes. This sets it apart from much of the competition. The helmet also has a speed dial fit system, internal sunshade, removable neck curtain, and speaker pockets so you can add a communication unit if you want.
There’s no need for some sunglasses while riding this motorcycle, the sunshade included in the helmet offers 100 percent UVA and UVB protection. Also, the helmet comes with a five-year warranty and it is DOT approved.

LS2 Rebellion Helmet
The LS2 Rebellion Helmet is a half helmet that stands out from the pack with bolder styling and top-notch quality. The helmet is a favorite of many riders out there, and it’s really easy to see why. If the Bell Pit Boss doesn’t do it for you, then this is likely the next best option.
The helmet features what LS2 calls a Kinetic Polymer Alloy shell that comes in two sizes. HJC IS-Cruiser Helmet
I actually own the HJC IS-Cruiser Helmet. I don’t wear it much because I prefer the modular helmets I have, but the few times I have worn this helmet I’ve been impressed. It’s a nice lid to pop on if you want to feel the wind on your face.
The helmet features a lightweight polycarbonate shell. HJC uses advanced CAD technology to ensure the helmet fits just right. It also has an integrated pull-down sun shield, a Nylex interior that’s removable and washable, and a Nylon chin strap with a double D-ring retention system.
The helmet is DOT approved, and well-made. You won’t have any issues with it that I can imagine. It’s far from fancy, but then are you really looking for a fancy helmet if you’re buying a half helmet?
