    I am also a woman rider and like most people on a budget i have been getting alot of my “equipment” from Leatherup.com been pleased so far. Ordered riding boots haven’t gotten yet can’t wait. The reviews have been good. Spent less than $ 100 ! They also have promo coupons that help with S & H or just a discount on merchandise 15 %.

    Munch..what i meant was the stuff i am using to clean bike is leaving a slight haze or film on the chrome on the bike, just keepin it clean….seeing what products people recommend for keeping their bike parts clean….the chrome is in great condition….how can u tell when you need to replace the back brake…..is there a “wear indicator”

    what is a good site to purchase tires on line ? I just purchased a back tire from a bike shop and didn’t realize tires are expensive just as much as car tires ! Need front one now he told me it would be about
    $ 100 plus labor

    Tks Munch ! I appreciate everyone’s comment but I do believe both sides will go on forever and it comes down to personal choice. Just like wearing your seat belt. I wear mine because it is the law in NYS but prior to this people had a choice to wear it or not. Seat belts do save lives but if someone doesn’t want to wear their’s in their own vehicle that is there personal choice…..and risk they take….enough said….tks eveyone for their input !!

    I tend to agree with Munch. While taking my bike safety class the instructor had different types of helmets depending on the ride and weather…..just like jackets…..not lookin to open a can of worms LOL just a lively debate….

    Tks Santa Cruz …after i did my research and had a idea in my head what the bike was worth they dropped the price down $ 400. It’s getting closer, most bikes that year I see on Craigs list do not have have the low mileage like this one so it’s hard for me to factor in that for price. I know there are variables to this how it was ridden, maintenance etc……tks for your advice….they see a girl coming into the showroom and they think they can take advantage of you….Not….knowledge is power….

    tks for the feedback I will see what happens today. They gave me the impression there is not much wiggle room but we will see. The dealer is 6 hours away and they also carrying other bikes similiar to this so if I don’t get this one at least I will have a few others to choose from. Our local dealers just basically say this is the only one we have left on the floor and once it goes that’s it. I want to be able to have a variety to look at. Who wouldn’t ?

    Looking at purchasing through a dealer a 2006 Vulcan 500 with 567 miles on it what is a good negotiating price to start with ? Their listed price is $ 3,889. Blue book is $ 2, 900. Somewhere in the middle ? This will be my first bike purchase and looking at negotiating price.

    Yes I thought about going with Kawi for financing but my payments would be alittle over $ 200 month for 2 years and if you don’t pay it off within 2 years the interest rates go through the roof !! I would like to go with a used bike instead just for the obvious reasons, being a new rider and cost……i don’t have enough saved up for a good used bike and wanted to get riding this summer after i take my course so…the credit union route might not be too bad. I totally agree with you and have learned from my past in having high interest loans on cars in my younger days !!

    Looking at purchasing a 2009 Vulcan 500 but the interest rate is high 13.95 % does anyone know how to get a decent interest rate on a new bike. This is what the dealer was offering. I would like to purchase a used bike but they do not finance. Any thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated.
