Maybe you won’t “outgrow” the Ninja, but after your first year, you will get the itch for something bigger, and for freeway riding, you will probably want the bigger bike. I don’t have a sportbike, but a cruiser, and after 1 season, am looking to move up. Also, if you have buddies who ride, you’ll want to be able to keep up with them on longer trips etc. When I took the MSF course, I said I had a 250, and the instructor said I’d want a bigger bike pretty soon. I said, no I just want to ride to work to save gas and that’s it. Turns out he was right. I guess that’s why he was the teacher.

It has a v-twin engine, that just looks bigger than the Rebel’s and also sounds beefier. I have had people tell me it looks like a bigger bike. The first tank of gas I got 80 mpg. Now though, about 70 since I ride it harder, and ride in on cold mornings so I let it warm up a while before I take off. I will say that I do like the old school look of the Magna or Nighthawk. If I could’ve found a used Nighthawk 250 when I was looking for a bike I would’ve got that instead just based on the looks.
