I’m in pretty much the same position you are. I’m not interested in carrying passengers, but other than that we’re in the same boat.
Seems like all the good starter bikes and smokin’ deals are too far away to work. I think the Rebel would be a great bike, but buying a brand new one isn’t the best option if you’re just going to sell it in a year anyway. And it seems none of the good used ones are close enough. It’s tough man. Unfortunately I haven’t found any solid answers yet (though I did get some great advice here). Anyway good luck and post what you decide to get. I’d be interested to see
MedicParticipantThanks for the advice. I see what you’re saying about the horsepower thing I think, and I guess that makes sense. I just like the looks of the Magna for some reason.
I’m definitely looking for a cruiser, not into the sport bikes at all, just not my style. I just want something to take to work and more importantly, to take on nice scenic rides on the weekends.I don’t want to sound like I think I’m a tough guy here, but I think I can handle a bigger bike than the Rebel. Nothing huge, maybe a medium cruiser. I’ve been looking all over craigslist and ebay but most of the good deals are not in my area. Just got to keep looking I guess.
MedicParticipantThanks for the reply.
I forgot to mention I guess, I’m signed up for the BRC in March, which was the first class they had open. It’s a requirement here anyway, so I kinda have to. But I’m glad it’s required really. And it’s free so why not!
I’m just not sure I guess, the Rebel seems like a good choice, but it’s so small. I don’t want to get too much bike, but I don’t want to feel like I’m riding a kid’s toy either. That moped got pretty old pretty fast.
