again I appreciate all the comments and will keep checking for new suggestions. thank you all!
lbhParticipantthank you all for your comments – i will definately try the ear plugs. I have a windsheild and all the protective gear (including full face helmet) and thought I keep my eyes focused on the horizon, but will now make an extra effort to make sure. As my good friend said, she was in my shoes a year ago and now rides 400 miles a day on some rides (she does wear earplugs)! Any other comments are still welcomed!
lbhParticipanti bought a HD 883L because it was the only bike i could reach the ground flat footed. I’m 5’1/2″ with very short legs. Also, i was looking at the Honda Rebel, but everyone told me it was too small/light and after doing the little riding I’ve done, I do like the heaviness of the HD in the wind – I would’ve been blown over on the Rebel
lbhParticipantthanks for some input. To clarify – the “we” is my husband on a BMW and me on the HD Sportster. I have friends who do use ear plugs, I’ll give that a try, although I don’t think it’s the noise that’s really bothering me about going fast (perhaps it is and I don’t realize it). Any other suggestions are welcomed!
lbhParticipantthanks for the info. I’ve learned it also depends on your torso and legs – which make up the height! I am 5′ 1 1/2″, but have shorter legs than torso!
lbhParticipantthanks for the Suzuki suggestions – i have them listed as a little higher than the others, 27.6 (S40) and 27.8 (GZ250) and when your short, it makes a big difference.
