I”m in the same boat. 5′ 10, 260 lbs. Sigh…Damn carbs and beer! ;) I’m loving the idea of a 250R, but unsure if it’s size and power will be sufficient for my big ass! ;) From what I’ve read, it should be just fine for a first bike. I’m heading to a dealership Thursday afternoon to sit on, and check out an 08 Blue 250R with seat cowl. Just got a call back from them stating it’s not a trade-in, rather it’s on consignment due to the owner not being able to afford the payments. Sucks for him. I’ll check her out and reply how comfortable it is to sit on and handle bar distance, etc.

Truly appreciate all the advice guys. I’ll be signing up and taking the MSF course prior to coming home with a ride. Odds are I’ll shoot for the Ninja. Good looking and forgiving, and from the reviews I’ve read here and elsewhere added to the Youtube videos I’m hooked on, LOL, I’ll be enjoying the ride and then some. ;)

    Thanks again guys.

One more thing…I’ll need a helmet of my own for the MSF course though right?

Appreciate the information guys. I’ll look into a learner’s permit and sign up for the MSF course prior to buying the bike. I need time to get my money together for the purchase anyway. Thanks for the quick replies. It’s appreciated. :)
