Thanks everyone for your advice and comments, my decision is a lot easier now. I’m looking into used 250cc cruisers (Yamaha Virago, or Honda Rebel), so I can practice riding on one of those instead of being nervous of riding a new one. Thanks again for all your input, very much appreciated!

Thanks for the comparison sheet, that helps a lot. As a female beginner rider, I’m not keen on getting a cruiser with more than 450cc. I want to start small and work my way up so I can build the confidence to ride something more powerful one day. Does anyone know if 65mph (110kmh) is too fast for a 250cc cruiser to comfortably reach on a highway? I need to make sure that the bike can do that speed for my M2 exit test.
