Im doing a mod to my bike. Im making underglow for it! Wooo. But the only concern is that to mount it blow i would have to have it on or around the pipes, and they get real hot. Anyone know a way i can mount a strip od LEDS to the bike without melting plastic or something else. Any way to get around it?

    Fairing or naked?

If you have a fairing, mount it to the inside of the fairing, ensuring you’ve got enough space between the fairing and any hot parts (Rad, Rad hose, engine, exhaust). Otherwise, try and find a section of frame away from the exhaust (on a dual exhaust bike, there is usually a section of frame just behind the engine that is twin spar where you could mount the lights “inside” away from the exhausts. Not sure how you’ll route electrical though.

Hint: Stuff like that is very much a matter of personal taste on a bike, it will most likely lower the resale value of the bike. I’m not saying don’t do it, I’m saying remember to take it off before you sell the bike (if you ever do) :P

try building a metal plate that can support it..you know what i mean.. and there are three places you can put neon..under bike to illuminate the road to spot dog shit (that’s how we joke it here), to show off your cylinders (naked bike) and underneath back mudgard to shine the fatty tyres…if you have fairing then the ‘glow-road’ is not that ok…unless it is a powaful led…

A metal plate sounds good. I cant show off my cylinders cause i have fairings. I like the spot road, i might put real neon underneath. My tires are small but i do like that idea of lighting them up, could look B.A. if done right. Ill have to find a way to hook it up to the battery but thats the least of my worrys.

yeah read your posts somewhere else and found you got the gs500 right? so forget about cylinders, focus on underneath bike and b.a tyre XD yea you have to relay wires and either do a connection to your existing switch (antenna, low beam high beam) or buy a switch apart… Switch apart is better… I had all three ares lightened on my bike but used up my lil tiny battery.. dang! then i said let away the cylinder show off, concentrate on the remaining areas but still it would suck up the battery… then i did a system to light up both the rear tyre and the road underneath me… my rear mudgard was thick… now you know the system :D but i used a neon which was slighter brighter than one but less than two.. which means the battery was used up significantly but not as much as two neons together…

Be careful trickin’ out your bike like that. If a LEO’s having a particularly bad day, he can cite you for mods like this.

How about a muffler with a huge ass sticker on it that says FOR CLOSED COURSE COMPETITION ONLY?

I thought they can only right one if its blue or red?

A stick like that would be funny.

Buy a Yoshi TRS muffler for your bike. There’s huge sticker on it that says exactly that. Being a rebel, I left mine on . It’s on the inside so you can’t really see it unless you’re looking for it.
