Someone on the Rebel boards posted this on the forum. I dont think I would have:
“In the old country where I am from, 2 wheel transport is common and it dont appear wrong to have whoever in your pillion.
but seems like here in the USA, the pillion passenger is most likely to be the drivers significant other.
So it appears gay that two men are on one bike.
one time I gave my friend Eric a ride downtown, and we got heckled with gay remarks and slurs, though I’m not gay nor is he, and aside from being on the same bike, there is no indication of such a homosexual relationship. but yet the people heckled… ” F him in the A” … ” I didnt know this neighborhood had gays ” and other phrases was said…
I suppose it is the relative position of the two people, along with this being more of a car society.
so anyway I think I got a solution to solve this.
we all have pillion helmets, and usually its a half helmet thats attached to to the bike somehere on a permenant basis..
I suggest, we go to a place where they sell wigs or hair pieces, the cheap ones are fine, and glue it to the edge of the helmet so anyone who wears such helmet will appear to have long blonde hair.
so issue solved, because no one is gonna heckle you for having a chick on the back seat that appears mannish, thats just rude… and most likely they will only notice the beatiful flowing long blonde hair to really notice anything else about the pillion passenger.”
I just had to laugh and then I replied with this video:

“Would you post this?”, “Someone on the Rebel boards posted this on the forum. I dont think I would have:” ….but yet …. you did here! It’s obvious this guy has issues. 1) feeling the need to be validated about his sexuality by a cyber community, through which probly none that have ever met him 2) Obviously he is looking to start a fire that will turn into a barn burner, either he knows this and waiting excitedly for the sparks to fly, or just that ….. slow…and not knowing the Pandora’s box he’s opening, in which case I wonder how he got a MC license or permit.

February 27, 2009 at 3:46 am #16765SantaCruzRiderParticipantDude tip #34: It’s cool to have a buddy willing to give you ride somewhere, but if that ride involves a motorcycle, proper form calls for the passenger to carry an empty bright red gas can in one hand. In the event of any dirty looks or raised eyebrows, the passenger should half raise the gas can and nod his head toward it with a half smile and a shrug.

Posting a link would have been better.
Now I might THINK the gay thing seeing two guys on a bike, but I’d never say anything.
February 27, 2009 at 6:12 am #16769eonParticipantI must be missing something, why do you think he is a troll or retarded? And why would you not post that?
Other than his comments on how to solve the problem and the stupid video link, he is has raised a point that has also struck me as being odd. Just last week on a group ride someone’s bike broke down and he had to get a ride back. Everyone squirmed around at the thought of him riding “bitch”. The ride leaders partner was also riding with us and she gave up her bike and she rode pillion behind her dude. The guy who broke down rode her bike back. Now if that had been me I would have told him where to go. He could ride behind me or he could walk. I thought it was uncool to ask her to give up her bike because all the guys had machismo issues.
I put it down to just another one of those cultural differences that seem never ending (being a foreigner myself). I still haven’t got over the public toilets here with doors 2 ft off the ground and a 2 inch gap at the hinges. As well pull down my pants and shit in the park for all the privacy they give you.
February 27, 2009 at 1:04 pm #16773MattParticipantI’m ignoring the original poster.
But I do enjoy the video… and I may have that terrible tune stuck in my head…
February 27, 2009 at 3:54 pm #16774Clay DowlingParticipantI’ve had to do it a couple of times, and I really really hate it. Not for the social issues, I just hate being on a bike and not being in control. Scares the piss out of me. It’s like being on a roller coaster without the comfort that the rails are going to keep you on track.
I might be more comfortable about it now that I’m a rider, but I was not happy riding bitch.
February 28, 2009 at 4:14 am #16791MunchParticipantAir bags….’nuff said. Only time a motorcycle should be equipped with ’em. Sorry ladies… had to be said.
March 2, 2009 at 3:14 pm #16840Clay DowlingParticipantI thought that was mostly the dude holding the throttle.
March 2, 2009 at 3:32 pm #16841MunchParticipantyour mistaken wind bag for air bag :^)
