Dang! Okay, now I’m not too thrilled. ;)

How does ONE avoid doing wheelies (and wtfrak are stoppies!?) in the first place?

That was beautiful. Now I don’t have to be curious of what a 90 MPH+ accident looks like. XD

Not sure who’s smarter, the guy pulling wheelies on an asphalt boat path or the spectators watching as he passes within 5 feet of them.

Based on the horizon line from his helmet cam, my guess is that he was already unbalanced from mugging for his “fans”, came down hard from the wheelie and was thrown forward, putting too much weight on the front.

At that point, I wonder if there was anything he could do to avoid a highside. My reaction would be to go for the rear brake and hope it quiets the back end. Not sure if that would help.

Kellisanth: Don’t worry about stoppies, You have to work pretty hard to get enough stopping force on the front wheel of most bikes to overcome the fork rake — and you’re probably right on the razor’s edge of locking the front tire at that point.

Not the best idea on his part, or the spectators either. Kinda neat to watch from that perspective though. I’m positive that’s as close as I’ll ever be to actually doing something like that.

My question is, The guy who comes and stands over him, what the heck is he doing? He appears to check his gloves and then moves down for whatever reason, checking somethng? At first I thought he was checking LOC and then maybe doing some kind of assessment, but I’m not real sure what’s going on there.
If he’s a medic, how aout a little c-spine? He’s all checking out this guy’s periphery while he moves his head and neck at will. Yeah, check your MOI bud.

“My question is, The guy who comes and stands over him, what the heck is he doing?”

He’s checking the dude’s wallet to see if it has any money, and then the idiot’s boots to see if they’ll fit him.

Hahaha yeah, we learned that in EMT class. What’s the first thing you check when you have an unconscious patient? … His wallet!

That does explain things though, his gloves must have been scuffed up pretty bad since he opted not to take them.

Hehe. Wallets. That I can understand. Did some Vol.Firefighting a long time ago, and seen stuff.

A friend of mine, she’s diabetic thus got a tattoo of the Diabetic Medic Alert tag on her wrist. Of course, if zombies come along and tear her limbs off, it won’t do any good.

I’ve thought of getting one of those UTags – http://www.utagice.com/ – but do wonder how many EMT/PM/FR are going to have laptops open and ready when coming across a scene, just to pop one of those USB thingies in. Thus didn’t opt to buy one, for the present time.

I *DO* plan to make up a small list for emergency contacts and medical info, stick one in the small trunk space of the bike, one in my wallet, and another in my jacket pocket (with the license/registration/insurance papers).
