I just purchased my first bike….08 Ninja 250! I love it, and have only ridden a block to the gas station and back. (SIDENOTE: I’m Finishing the MSF Course in the SF Bay Area Today!!!!!)
I have been researching Break In procedures and have read many different theories that all could be correct with their own logic. I would like to get your take on the three practices discussed HERE

Comparing the Factory Method, Dukes, and Motomans methods of break in.

I just want to ride the bike, but I know I need to take some precautions in order to maximize engine strength and stamina………Let me know what you think!

If you follow the factory recommended break-in and something goes wrong, you can rest assured that it wasn’t your fault.
Similarily, warranty claims are easy when you cna put hand on heart and say you followed the rules.

Granted, staying below 4000rpm on the ninja 250 is a pretty difficult thing to do.

i followed motoman’s method and my bike runs great! of course i only have 200 miles on it. I changed the oil at 140 instead of what motoman said, but he was correct about metal shavings in the oil…i should have taken a picture…
