It got a good review in roadbike magazine and i really like how it looks. I have also heard of people wearing carhart jackets and pants for ridin. What do yall think of that? Thanks

It’s hard to know exactly what “poly/cotton” means in this case, but I’d feel better myself with at least a Cordura fabric outer shell. Also, doesn’t look like it has adjustments for fit, which is something I usually need (though you may be different).
But on the plus side, it does have armor pockets, so one could get a set of good, CE rated stuff like Knox, and that would bring it toward “acceptable” if it were me buying it. And Alpinestars isn’t exactly some low-end, cheapo brand…
I will say though that jacket would look great next to a vintage standard, like an old Honda or BMW.

Personally though I would hold out for a good deal on a full perf leather jacket (they can be had for $150 or so on closeout) and then buy a cheaper more versatile textile jacket such as the Cortech GX Sport Series II for when the weather goes outside of the range of the perf leather.

So you have then got to shell out for back, elbows and shoulder armor. And like JT, I wonder what poly/cotton actually is.
I would need a lot more info on this before I would consider buying it. I have my suspicions that Alpinestars puts out products at the cheaper end of the range and use their reputation and brand name to sell them. I’m sure it gets them greater sales but certainly makes me stop and think before buying their products.
