Well I just got home hour and a half after leaving work… left the shop with sunny skies…. 80% to the house… and rain … which I was excited about at first… “yay get to learn something today!” . Then lightning kicked in…. “BOOOOOO!” had to spend a hour under a bridge to make sure I didn’t become the higher ups personal moving target with lightning. Finally the lightning drifted away but the rain didn’t… and wouldn’t ya know… saddle bags not installed yet and my Frogg Toggs are at the house… grrrr. Oh well nothing I aint done when i was a kid on a 4 wheeler…. off I go… 8 pm (dark with rain clouds) and raining. A first time ride for me in both much less one or the other. Might I say I did better then even I would have expected…. no squirlyness on the wet road ( +1 for the Vulcan and rider) headlights are brighter then I was thinking..(again +1 Vulcan) but I was totally soaked through ( -1 rider) . Guess next time I pay attention to my gut and not the weather person.
Positives…. wet weather riding under my belt… night riding under my belt… combo of the two under my belt… and I am gonna go on a gear shopping spree this week end.
    Cons…. well… I got wet ….. lol .

My rider coach said that once you ride alot you will start keeping your Frogg Toggs in/on the bike at all times.

you would be surprised how much distance a lightning strike can arc across to get to a nearest ground… I mean it is jumping miles from the ground up ( science says anyways). Bigger puddles….not to bad since you have skinny tires….though I wouldn’t go searching for em…definitely keep firm grip if you HAVE to go through one, and slow down a touch.
Oh yea… new addition to the cons list…. beginning of major summer thunderstorm…. rain drops hit hard!!! lol…. worse then the Japanese beetles and lots more…lol.

If my saddle bags were on I would have had them…..but I have to use a bungee cargo net and a gym bag for now…. worries me some times at 74 mph. The saddle bags will be on by the end of sunday though… after that …never again. Boots are on order though… lol the ones I have are no where near water proof
