I’ve found them very effective in conjunction with a Rain-X treated visor and the one that I used (of the set of 3) lasted through it’s first Winter and is still like new.
Tip: It’s easier to put the wiper on the glove’s fore-finger before you put the glove on rather than after. Once on, you can just leave it in place full-time.
I’ve also seen some winter gloves with a built-in wiper.
