    Hey guys,

I’ve begun looking online for a used bike. What should I been looking for when I get there besides dents and scratches? I’ve read to check the clutch and brakes.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

When I bought my SV off craigslist, what I did was the usual inquiries about the condition of the bike, maintenance, etc, but also asked about the person selling it. I got a good feel for just what kind of a person he was, and developed a good amount of trust (both ways). Also, he was willing to ride it to a location where I could take a look at it, and we could close the deal if everything looked good.

Not trying to spam but this is the most comprehensive guide i’ve seen to use when evaluating a used bike. Hope this helps,

I just saw someone on craigslist trying to pass off an 08 ninja 250 with a crack in the frame as no big deal. Amazing…

Just like a car, ask to have a mechanic you trust take a look at it for you. That way you know what you are in for.
