ParticipantHere’s something I haven’t found when I searched the archives… has anyone ever pulled a trailer behind a motorcycle? Does it affect your steering or anything else? I am looking at different types of trailers and they all seem very heavy. Does anyone know of a light weight or utility type trailer? I carry tools to job sites and just need something cheap. Thanks ya’ll – I appreciate the wit and wisdom I’ve found here!
FYI – I haven’t made a choice yet. I’m still in the research stage and this is one of the things that will help me decide, especially if there are specific types that cannot pull a light trailer.

Yeah, Spyders are cool but way out of my budget… let me try again…
I am looking for a small light weight trailer that I can carry my hand tools to work. This would include a case for a cordless drill and some work clothes including a hard hat. Not a lot, but more than can fit in the storage areas I’ve seen.
All of the trailers I find on line seem made for camping or long trips. I am looking for something more along the lines of a tool box on wheels. Something cheap and functional. I do not need something stylish or heavyduty that costs $5000.
I have not chosen a bike yet. I’m still trying to decide what I need… like the trailer. Thanks for any ideas you’ve got!

ParticipantYou could go with a Ninja and get a actionpacker. Four well place holes drilled into it with some eyebolts to go on the strap hooks and you have a funtional and removable trunk.

ParticipantGood idea! I found one on the US Plastic Corp web page.
24 Gallon Rubbermaid® ActionPacker® Storage Container 26.5″ x 19″ x 17.4″
These are the dimensions – would this be too big to put on the back of a Rebel 250 or a Ninja? I would place the weight of the drill and tool pouch in the center and make sure they wouldn’t slide around. Otherwise I worry about the weight tearing out the bolts through the plastic.
Thanks for the suggestion!

ParticipantLook into aluminum side cans on something like a KLR or DRZ. They can hold a fair bit. The KLR might not have the sex-appeal of the ninja, but is definitely a work horse, and people have mounted loads of stuff on the back of them.
