ParticipantI’d never thought to look at the comments on the various BBM articles before, and ended up clicking through some thanks to Mega’s and Munch’s responses to one in particular showing up in “recent comments.” Man…you guys have such patience! The same crap again and again would drive me out of my mind.
“Uh…no ur dum cuz ne 1 with nuts gets a supersport bike, at least 600cc, but the more CCs the bigger your man sack. I learned on a 2400cc twin-turbo an I oly crashd one times only hit my head dr says I’m ‘special’ now. O yah also Hayabusa is teh best bike period.”
I applaud Munch for his giving benefit of the doubt, and calm/rational response. I suppose in the end you really do just want to prevent another statistic. As of yet, however, I’m just not up to the task of trying to reason with mongoloids. Any advice?October 12, 2009 at 2:56 pm #22801megaspaz
Participantignore ’em or go to town on ’em. The only thing i didn’t like about those comments were the “if you can’t learn on a 600cc then you shouldn’t be riding” bullshit. if you wanna disagree with ben or anyone here, cool. difference of opinion. if you wanna go use your experience, then by all means do so. if you want put yourself in the position of motorcycle gestapo and go about judging who should and shouldn’t ride, then it’s on.

ParticipantWhy go out of your way to go all the way to an entire website dedicated to starting people off slow just to make a fuss about not starting off slow? It’s just straight trolling.
I should know better than to let this get to me, but we all know the drill:

ParticipantI’ve always wondered why Ben allowed comments on those articles. I rarely go there as it’s hard to follow the thread at times due to recent comments getting mixed up with comments from years ago. But I was reading the recent comments on that 600cc thread with some amusement. I guess if the trolls go there to feed it keeps the main forum respectable. One of the reasons this is my favorite site is that people can have a polite discussion even if their views are polar opposite. I also spend a lot of time on advrider.com where there are some very experienced riders who do amazing things (ride round the world type of thing) but the good posts get drowned out by the bad.

Participantxkcd is great.
In the end, I spend enough of my time getting angry and po’d by things/people at work. I don’t let a much of low-life losers that I’ll never actually meet get me down…
