ParticipantHi,
My name is Amanda, I currently ride a Ninja 250R that has been lowered two inches. I still can’t flat foot. Currently looking for an upgrade bike that will be comfortable (and safe) to ride. On my second season of riding.

Participanthrm… flat footing really isn’t that important. If you can comfortably get the ball of your feet down at the same time, you should be fine. I can’t flat foot either of my bikes either… just something you gotta get used to. You probably stop with one foot anyway, you can always stay stopped on one foot. If you have to back it in or out for like parking, throw down the kick stand and get off the bike to back it in or out.
If flat footing really really is so important to you, the only thing I can think of might be to look at cruisers or standards.

ParticipantIt’s not so much that it’s important to me, just trying to give people an idea of how short I am… I guess I could have accomplished the same thing by stating I’m 5 feet tall. And yea, that’s pretty much what I do now, I lean and have the ball of my left foot keeping me up. Working pretty well for me so far, and I think it’ll work nicely when I upgrade

Participanthrm… you might want to stay with kawi. afaik, for sportbikes, their ergos are closest to standards and always seem to be a tad lower than the other sportbike makers. I’d look at a 650r.

ParticipantYou don’t need to flat foot both feet at a stoplight. There is a “proper position” on the bike when stopped:
Left hand on the clutch, right hand on the handlebar, left foot on the ground, right foot on the brake.

ParticipantI adore my 250, but am just not excited about the 500 or the 650… the styling on the ’09s just leaves something to be desired for me… I was thinking about the zuki SV650, it looks like I could drop it a couple inches and have a nice ride.

ParticipantLookie at the Gladius then. It’s the replacement for the sv650. They lowered the seat height on the gladius compared to the 2nd gen sv650 so it’ll be less to drop.
