I know that we have a few Shift fans in the administration here on this site (all Ben’s reviews are of Shift apparel) but the prices of their merchandise have gone up drastically over the last couple of years and I don’t really see how they could be worth it. The price they’re charging for their jackets puts them in the same bracket as the premium import brands such as Alpinestars, RS Taichi, and dangerously close to Dainese. Are they really worth that? I mean, for less than the cost of their hybrid leather/textile jacket you could get a full leather jacket from Icon, Teknic, or a large number of other brands. And $400 for their cheapest all leather jackets? Even Alpinestars has ones in the $350 range and they’re known for being among the highest quality jackets on the market.

The gear does seem pretty solid in person, and I like the logo (the stylized “S”, not the gigantic “SHIFT” that is)…but some value-priced brands seem just as solid. My Fieldsheer stuff is definitely good quality, but w/o the high pricetag.

Interesting to me that Shift seems to be another motocross-oriented company that’s expanding into streetwear, like AXO.

…I actually have to say “no.” Shift has a couple of things going for them. They, in my opinion, offer very good style, good quality of build FOR THE PRICE, and when I got my gear, affordability. You’re right though: their prices have soared.

So we’re all clear, I own three Shift jackets, and two pairs of Shift gloves. I’m no hater. If you can grab their stuff on clearance (happens every so often), do it, but I don’t know if I’d pay $500 for anything but a Dainese jacket. Don’t get me wrong; I love my Vendetta jacket, and wear it almost every day, but I’d have to think a lot harder about it at $400.

Has some reasonable prices on Shift gear…not all sizes/models, but if they have what you want, it’s a great place to shop. I buy a lot from them…fast shipping and good customer service.
