I am a brand new cyclist who just purchased a 2008 Honda Rebel. I am requesting experienced riders give recommendations on what tools we should always carry on our cycles just in case. Thank you very much.

Dunno about you, but my brand new suzuki came with a toolset in the trunk compartment. If the rebel has something like that, give it a looksies.

Thanks for the reply. The Rebel has a tool kit storage space, but does not come with a tool kit. I am trying to find out what tools I should always have with me just in case….

You should probably ask a honda dealer. They might have standard toolkits available.

I agree with Megaspaz, my kawi also came with a kit with all of the common tools I would need. If you don’t want to go that route, then I would suggest buying some metric alan wrenches, adjustable wrench, a philips and flathead screwdriver, some pliers, and finally a couple sockets and a socket wrench for things like your oil drain plug. You don’t have to carry the full set of alan wrenches or sockets, just pick the ones that are the most common on your bike. That is basically what my tool kit has in it, although all of the tools that came with the bike are of a lesser quality than those you would buy at home depot.

Oh yeah, another thing to carry is super glue, a knife, and long zipties. Maybe some electrical tape too if you can squeeze it in there.
