Someone posted this link on my local bike forum.

A motorcycle model (depending on how conservative your workplace is, might not be entierly SFW photos of the model pre-crash, but nothing you wouldn’t see in sports illustrated) was hit by a semi. The truck rolled over her foot.

I was surprised by just what happened to her foot. I don’t know if she was wearing proper footware at the time, but I know I’ll always wear proper boots after seeing that!

Damn! I’m actually really surprised they didn’t amputate half her foot, I mean you could CLEARLY see bone, muscle, and other tissue. It’s amazing what medicine can do, but I always wear all my gear to try and avoid stuff like this. Although, I think if a semi truck spun out on your foot you would need tank armor to come away unscathed.

dang, thats some crazy stuff… your by far the toughest girl i know no haha. and also vary lucky you still have a foot. What kind of shoe did you have on at the time?

I think I read in that forum post that she was actually wearing alpinestars motorcycle boots, so without them she probably would have lost the foot!

That was sick and facinating at the same time (meaning the healing process). I’m so glad that I got boots, makes me happy I listened to all the advvice on this forum when considerig taking up this sport. I was made fun of at work when I put tmy boots on to go on a ride on the back of a co-workers bike when it was only a couple of blocks. Uopn seeing that I will always wear my boots.
