A friend of mine invited me over to watch the UFC fight this weekend. I, of course, took my bike. It is getting chilly, but I didn’t think it would be that cold. I didn’t bother putting the liner in my jacket, but I did go with a non breathable gauntlet glove and my waterproof, windproof pants. Going there wasn’t so bad, but going home at midnight was really bad.
Fairings are your friends. Let me tell you what! My pants are awesome. Not so much as a chill on my legs. The gloves did their job to a point. not being insulated the outside temp did eventually leak through. My jacket without the liner wasn’t doing it though. I also need to look into something to keep my face and neck warm. So, on the interstate at 70+ I had to get as low as I could on the standard seating ninja. Let me tell you, I got behind that tiny little wind screen, put my belly on the tank, and tucked my elbows in so far I was perching them on my knees and rode a lot warmer than on the secondaries at 35mph.
Yeah, I was pretty boneheaded. What the heck good is the action packer if I don’t put things in it and put it on the bike when I go somewhere.

I wanted to be a trooper but now I have a cold and my husband said he’s pretty sure that riding the bike in 40 degree weather didn’t help. I suppose he is right. WHAAAAAA

Important to bundle up well though, especially since a cold can make you extremely temperature sensitive.
