Pick up bike after dropping

My other half is interested in riding and one of the main conerns is picking up the bike after dropping it. (I know that shouldn’t be the PRIMARY concern but it’s the one that sticks out!) I’m a 6′ tall 200lbs guy and when I was (and still am) learning, and I had to pick up my ’84 500cc Honda Interceptor after being a dumbass at a stop sign. It was a struggle but I was able to right it and get on my way. Well, the S.O. is 5’5″ and 130lbs. We took the old Honda into the grass of the back yard and gently laid it down so we could try to right it. Again, I could do it, but the ‘other couldn’t. It’s just too heavy, and it’s only 400lbs dry- a very average weight, if not kinda light, right?
Do you guys have any good tips for smaller people who might need to right a bike? Do you sometimes just have to accept that you’re going to need help if something happens and you go over?
I notice I grab the handle bars and lift it and then kinda put my hips into it to get it up.- but I have alot more leverage than someone of much shorter stature.
Thanks for any tips…!

We’ll take the old bike into the grass again tomorrow, lean it over, and give it a shot. I bet we’ll get it upright again no problem after watching those videos!

Once they get out of the car, get her to ask the person for help because she really needs help lifting the bike back up. My MSF instructor taught us that.
