Patch a tire?

Anyone have to patch a tire yet? I did my first tire patch a few weeks ago when I found a large screw in my rear tire. My friend thankfully had a patch kit and in an hour I was ready to ride. Although if I had to do it again, I think I could get a tire full patched in under 15 minutes.

I definitely need to start carrying a patch kit in my bike, but I already carry too much stuff in my trunk.

patches are great for what they are, but plugs are the way to go for a quick fix. i rode 4K miles on a plugged dunlop qualifier until it was completely shot.

until you can get it properly patched from the inside.

I think a “how to” article on this would be a great addition to the site. It was only after I started riding it dawned on me “I don’t have a spare tire”. Some quick searches and I got myself a plug kit and an air compressor. Later on I realized there is a big difference between tubeless and tubed tires. Being able to patch a rear tire does not sound like a simple task to me.
