Depends on the area I guess… there should be some, at least a few, used ’08 ninja 250s after the end of the current riding season… but with the updates on the ’08 mebbe more people will keep them a tad longer… honestly, I couldn’t tell you…

I have already seen used ones in the paper and on craigslist around here (western Ma), so I do think there will be a used market. I think some people are just looking to trade up once they learn how to ride. I bought one myself and as of now I plan to keep it for at least a few years, it gets me around and is fun to ride. I’m not really a big power freak, so having a bike that tops out around 90-100 mph is fast enough for me. I tend to think that people may hold on to them a little longer just because of the way gas is now, once you get into the 600cc and above sport bikes your really not using a whole lot less than a small car when it comes to gas, but 250s are great, I have ready anywhere from 50-70mpg depending on riding habits.

I think if Kawa updates the look of the 500r like they did to the 250, you could find alot of people switching to it over their 250. I have seen some used ’08 250’s around as well. I’d say look for the people who bought them to save money on gas to keep them, and people who got them as intros into the sport to be trading up.

Me personally, if I had a 08 250, I would just pay it off and then buy a new bike. I’d then use the 250 to get someone I know into the sport for cheap.

I have seen several 08 Used 250’s in the Toronto area and the people are asking $1000 more than what they paid for the bike, and people are buying them. I got a downpayment on an 09 Ninja 250 for the past month, it will be worth the wait. I don’t really want to move up to the 500, for at least a couple of years, but i can understand the desire people have especially if they do update the look of the 500.

    Cheers

I might go to a bigger bike within the next year, depending on how many miles I can rack up.

I would expect that there would probably be quite a few used 08s for sale at around the 1 year anniversary. However, if the owners were like me, these bikes would probably have high mileage.

true i would buy a 500 if they updated it, however, kawasaki would never do that. It would take away from their 650r sales. It looks like its either 250r or 650r. Personally i don’t see the 500 lasting in production too much longer.

I was wondering if you had sold your 250. Did you decide to hang onto it a little longer?

the 650R i was going to buy was sold the night before I could check it out… so I am still riding the 250R.

I will need to buy a 650R and then sell my 250R, i had been trying to buy/sell within the same 1-3 days, but it is hard to find a blue 650R :(

there had been a lot of interest at the 4000-4500 price point…

I’ll take your 250 off your hands for $1000.00… ok, i might be willing to go as high as $1500.00… :-D
