Any Ohio newbies that want to take the MSF Beginner Riders Course should sign up now. They just released the schedule and ability to register online Monday February 7, 2011 and some classes are full already. I’d say by Mid-March, if you haven’t signed up, you’re out of luck for this season. It may even be earlier than that. They are also taking registrations for the Experienced Riders Course, although it is not offered as often or at as many locations.

    Here’s the link.. http://www.motorcycle.ohio.gov/

Any other states starting to fill their registrations by this time?

A couple weeks ago I signed up for first session in April at the local community college here in St. Louis, MO. Now most of the seats are taken for the summer and my class is full. I’d say you’re correct, they’ll probably be totally booked by mid-March.

I took the MSF course here in Indianapolis, In late october and my skills test was on Halloween of 2010 and let me say that it was worth ever penny. I learned so much and after riding my bike on the city streets in Indy today I realized that the class was soooo much harder but I think it was set up that way on purpose; that way when you go out on the streets you are really ready. I guess the curriculum may be different depending on the state but the class I took required us to take off and stop at the drop of a hat. It was crazy demanding but so helpful . I am so glad I took that class rather than just trying to learn on my own. I highly recommend it.
