First of all I’d like to thank this site for all the helpful information and advice it has given me.
I started last summer riding a 49cc moped. I wanted to see if riding was for me and after a few months I was already hooked. This June I took the MSF course and got my license. After reading over articles on here about the best beginner bikes I decided to go with a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 650r. It has power but it’s not intimidating. And that was my main concern when making my first bike purchase. I didn’t want a super sport bike that would be way out of my skill level. For now I’m getting used to riding it around in an empty mall parking lot and making short trips to and from the gym.
I look forward to learning from you and I hope to be able to share my experiences and opinions as my riding skills progress.

Nice bike. I was thinking the 650r would make a nice commuter and light sport touring bike.
Gear up an practice, practice, practice.
